I drink a lot of ice water in the summer, and my cup always ends up in a puddle of water. So to me, summer means coasters! If you’re going to make some coasters, then why not make some placemats as well? This is how my mind works. So in honor of my crazy train of thought, here is a round up of coaster and placemat crochet patterns. Here are the names and links of each pattern, along with a little something that each designer has to say about them.
Add something extra to your knit or crochet with these tassels. I have a shortcut that allows you to attach the tassel as you make it, and leaves you with no ends to weave into your knit or crochet item. This is really more of a free form CAL/KAL. I have put together a list of crochet patterns and knit patterns of mine that work for a picnic, barbeque, backyard party, whatever you want to call it, you can find picture links to the patterns at the bottom of this post. Some of the patterns are already in patriotic colors, some just need a color change to work. Of course, you can make any of these patterns in any colors, so if you are from a country with different colors, you can still make them your own, or if you just want everyday outdoor party goods, you can make them in whatever colors you like!
Each Monday I will publish a blog post here with either a link to a new patriotic party pattern, or an update to an old one that didn’t use red white and blue the first time around. I will also be sharing photos (with permission) that have been shared in the CAL/KAL group. This sweet little tank is a great accessory for any little girl’s summer! It can be worn with jeans, a skirt, or anything in between. This pattern is only available in child small, I may one day go back and make it in more sizes, but that would most likely be a paid pattern. For now, this is the size I needed for a fun piece for one of my daughters for Easter, so this is the size you get for free. 🙂 I made it using some leftover Lion Brand Modern Baby yarn from another rainbow project I made. You can make yours in just one color, or however many make you happy!!

That’s right. Spring breakS. Pural. Last week the girls were on spring break, and the week before it was Doug. It’s such a bummer that they do not have the same spring break. But we make the most of it. Doug took 3 days during his spring break off of his second job (tutor for Huntington Learning Center) so he would have more time with the girls. They loved when he would pick them up from school and then be home the rest of the day.
