Trick or Treat 2013

Hello there my friends! I have lots of Halloween photos for you, and a few other bits as well. I have been spending lots of time in the basement, working on various patterns. Lots of color planning for some of these projects. I have a free pattern for you all with my testers right now. I plan on posting it here at the beginning of December. If you are looking for some ideas for holiday gifts, take a look through … Read more

Happy 40th Doug!

Before I go on with anything else, a little tease: I HAVE A FREE CROCHET PATTERN FOR YOU!!! I just have to finish my sample. I will be another day or two. It’s pretty. Today was (is for a few more minutes) Doug’s 40th birthday. It was quite the day. Yesterday after dinner the girls and I decorated for Halloween. I yarn bombed the railing on our front steps. Kyla helped with moral support. She is very good at that. … Read more

A bit about the Crochet and Knit show

I started writing a post for you when I got home on Sunday. It was supposed to be about some of the fun times I had at the show, but it rambled into something else. Instead of “fixing” it, here it is with some pictures added in for fun. I will still write a post or two more about some of my adventures last week, and about some of the amazing people I met. Well, I am home. What a … Read more

Stand back…

My head is going to explode, you may want to take a step back…

I have so much going on right now I can’t seem to keep it all straight, and I feel like my head may go kaplooy at any moment. Kaplooy? How do you spell ka-ploo-ie?

I have the top of the Katherine coat done, and am about 1/4 of the way done with the top part of the skirt. So I still need to do the rest of the top part of the skirt, the bottom of the skirt, the hood, the pockets, and the belt. I leave for the knit and crochet show two weeks from today. Oh dear.

Let’s not even get into the rest of the things I need to do before then.

Daisy chaos and camera news

Last night was our first Daisy meeting of the year. Upon turning in our room request schedule for the meetings at the school, we discovered that the policies had changed and we needed 40 days notice to request a room. Oops, we were a little late for the first meeting. We managed to get the cafeteria for all our other meetings, but we could not use the school at all for the first. So, I volunteered my house; after all, … Read more

First Day, First Grade

Here we are, the first day of first grade. I feel like we just left school, and now we are back again. I got a few snaps in, but not many. I am going to share them here along with a selection of my Facebook status updates about the girls from the past few years. They start with the most recent and go down, I have labeled each age change. 6 years old: 9/3/13 Kyla ~ “Sometimes I make a … Read more

Our trip to New England (a little late)

I had a lot of photos to share in this post, maybe a bit too many, so I turned most of them into collages. As always, you can click on a photo to see it a bit larger. At the beginning of the month we went to visit my family in New England. My mother is the oldest of 11 kids, and all 11 of them managed to make it back to Beverly, MA for our little reunion. OK, maybe … Read more

Rita

Just minutes ago, I was uploading and tagging photos to share with you. Some of my yarnie works in progress, and a few other goodies. I popped over to Facebook for a moment to check a message, and saw a status update that changed my plans. The crafty post will go up tomorrow. When I was pregnant with the twins, over 6 years ago, I joined a brand new site for moms, CafeMom. It was my first social media site … Read more

Yarn Everywhere

I miss my parents when they are off living on other continents. But there are some perks. My mom saw the Bayeux Tapestry and bought me back a goodie from the gift shop. Before you say, “What, just cards?” Look inside. Pretty cool, aren’t they? MINE!!! I love them. A few days ago Kyla lost one of her top front teeth. The other one has been leaning to one side, so it looks like it is right in the middle. … Read more
