Wednesday Round Up 8/14/2014 ~ Fall Wraps

Soon the weather will break and fall will be here, are you ready? Try making some of these wraps to keep warm while you are out watching the leaves turn. I decided on the theme for this round up in honor of my first place win in the Accessories category of the 2014 CGOA Design Competition. The first pattern in the round up is the winning piece, and the pattern is on sale for the rest of the month. The … Read more

The girls turned 7 on Sunday. I have some snaps to share with you to show our festivities. Plus a little bit of yarnie stuff at the end of the post. 🙂 I think this was the day before their birthday. Doug was so proud of them! For their birthday breakfast, banana pancakes with real maple syrup and fresh strawberries. Yummy!! Here is Birthday Girl Kyla ready to party! And Birthday Girl Vada is all ready as well! Like I … Read more

Farmers Market Hexagon Bag AKA The Grand Old Flag Bag

The town farmers market is finally open for the season! I LOVE going to the farmers market, and I love using re~usable bags. For years I have been using the tote bags you can buy at the grocers, but this year I am making a market bag! This market bag has a hexagon base, a mesh side, and a long shoulder strap on top! I have chosen the super simple chain and slip st mesh for the side because it works so well for market bags, and I like the look. On our first outing to the market with the bag this morning, my daughter Vada dubbed it the “Grand Old Flag Bag.”

There are so many things I should be doing today. I think I will make a new pattern instead.

Groundhog~Bowl~Snow~Day

Good evening everyone. We had a very creative and fun couple of days over here At Home. The girls stashed an A.C. Moore bag in Doug’s office, and occasionally they run in there to grab something out of it. A few days ago Vada pulled out this Valentine’s Day monster. It always makes me smile when they randomly decide its craft time and just start getting creative. Of course Kyle loves to express her creativity with fashion! This sparkly little … Read more

Thanksgiving Weekend 2013

Well hello my friends! I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend. Time to get ready for more holidays. They just never stop this time of year!! There was some sort of Tricky~Tray at one of Doug’s jobs, and he tossed a ticket in a cup for something for me. Look what he won for me! It’s actually a nice little book. The projects are really cute. The best part is the pictures: Now there is a girl who … Read more

Ready for Summer Break!

Well, yesterday I promised you lots of pictures, so here they are! A couple weeks ago I helped out with the book fair at school. I finally remembered to bring my camera and take a snap of this quote on the gym wall that I just love. Good advice for kids (and adults as well.) For 2 days the gym was full of books and kids, it was fun.  I had this little beginning of a granny~something~or~other laying about, and … Read more

Nemo!!

Before I get into the snowy Nemo pictures, there is a bit of “business.” I will be starting a few new styles of posts here shortly. Once a month I will have a “guest blogger.” The guest blogger post will be an interview with another crafty blogger. I can’t wait to post my first interview.  I will also post the occasional “pattern round up.” Pattern round ups will consist of pictures and links for patterns in different categories. For example, my friend over at Cre8tion Crochet posted this awesome Valentine’s Day Pattern round up a few weeks ago. I plan on putting up my first round up next week, it will be patterns that are good for craft fairs. I don’t know about you, but I am getting my craft fair stock started now! I will put a “Round Up” link up top in the menu bar.

Now…Nemo.

Not quite what I wanted, but it will work

I started writing a wrap pattern at the beginning of October. It was beautiful in my head. Somewhere in the initial planning/math stages, something went awry. I think I tried to do too much. The pretty little picture was much more simple then what happened as I started writing.

Playing, Falling, and Fall

Well, Sandy is past and we are quite lucky. We only lost power for about 19 hours from Monday evening to Tuesday afternoon. The girls are off from school all week, Doug has been out from both jobs through today, and he will be off at least one of them tomorrow. Halloween has been postponed until Monday.

We heard a few thumps during the storm. Doug ran out to rescue this piece of siding that came down.
