Inside: If you’re looking for an elegant, yet slightly different crochet shawl pattern, this asymmetrical triangle shawl crochet pattern is it.

Front angled view of a white mannequin in a black skirt, black tank top, and a triangular shawl that's almost a 45/45/90 triangle, but is slightly off so all 3 sides and angles are different. The shawl is crocheted in alternating rows of solid stitches and mesh stitches in yarn lightly colored in shades of pale pink, pale blue and pale yellow. The 2 shorter of the 3 sides have a scalloped border. One point of the shawl hangs in front so the shawl drapes over the shoulder and is then wrapped around the neck twice and attached to the first side with a silver shawl pin.PinPin

Create a one-of-a-kind crochet shawl with our Slightly Off pattern. This asymmetrical triangular shawl is both elegant and easy to crochet. With a slightly lacy stitch pattern, it is a perfect canvas for any embellishments that you may want to add. Whether you go for a classic look or you want to make a bold statement with brighter colors, this pattern is sure to create an eye-catching piece.

I had this kooky idea for another asymmetrical pattern and so I gave it a go. It didn’t turn out quite the way I thought it was going to, but I really like it. Due to the increases being different on each side, the center line is “Slightly Off” – just like me! 🙂 I hope you enjoy this shawl. It was fun to make and is fun to wear. I like centering the center line down my back, draping the shorter side over my shoulder, and then wrapping the longer side around my neck and securing with a shawl pin.

FAQs

Can I change the size?

Sure! The pattern repeats rows 3 and 4 until the border, which happens after a repeat of row 3. It’s written out longer to show the color pattern. So to change the size, repeat 3 and 4 more or less times.
