Textured Bath Mat CAL Week 5

This week we will be looping the Jacob’s ladder and starting the border.

Loop the ladders: Pick up a ch-7 loop from the foundation ch, *pull the ch-7 from the row above through the loop, creating a new loop (do not twist), repeat from * until all the ch-7s have been pulled through. Repeat with each set of ch-7s. Find a tutorial on the Jacob’s Ladder stitch here.

Border: The border is worked on the right side and in rounds.

Round 1: With right side facing, attach Brite Pink to the top right corner of the piece (the top right corner is also the first st of row 36), (sc, ch 2, sc) all in same corner, sc in each of the next 8 sts [sc the top ch-7 loop and the ch-1 sp together, sc in each of the next 2 sts, sc the top ch-7 loop and the ch-1 sp together, sc in each of the next 9 sts] 8 times, ch 2, sc in the same st, 53 sc evenly down the side of the piece (this is done by placing 3 sc in the side of every 2 rows), ch 2, sc in same corner, sc in bottom of next 8 ch, [sc in bottom of ch-7 loop, sc in bottom of next 2 ch, sc in bottom of ch-7 loop, sc in bottom of next 9 ch] 8 times, ch 2, sc in the same st, 52 sc evenly up the side of the piece, sl st to the top of the first sc. ~ {113 sc on each of the long sides, 54 sc on each of the short sides}

Round 2: Sl st in ch-2 sp, ch 3, sc in same ch-2 sp, sc in each of next 113 sc, (sc, ch 2, sc) in ch-2 sp, sc in each of next 54 sc, (sc, ch 2, sc) in ch-2 sp, sc in each of next 113 sc, (sc, ch 2, sc) in ch-2 sp, sc in each of next 54 sc, sc in ch-2 sp, sl st in 2nd ch of beginning ch 3. ~ {115 sc on each of the long sides, 56 sc on each of the short sides}

Round 3: Sl st in ch-2 sp, ch 3, sc in same ch-2 sp, sc in each of next 115 sc, (sc, ch 2, sc) in ch-2 sp, sc in each of next 56 sc, (sc, ch 2, sc) in ch-2 sp, sc in each of next 115 sc, (sc, ch 2, sc) in ch-2 sp, sc in each of next 56 sc, sc in ch-2 sp, sl st in 2nd ch of beginning ch 3. ~ {117 sc on each of the long sides, 58 sc on each of the short sides}

Round 4: Sl st in ch-2 sp, ch 3, sc in same ch-2 sp, sc in each of next 117 sc, (sc, ch 2, sc) in ch-2 sp, sc in each of next 58 sc, (sc, ch 2, sc) in ch-2 sp, sc in each of next 117 sc, (sc, ch 2, sc) in ch-2 sp, sc in each of next 58 sc, sc in ch-2 sp, sl st in 2nd ch of beginning ch 3. ~ {119 sc on each of the long sides, 60 sc on each of the short sides}

Round 5: Sl st in ch-2 sp, ch 3, sc in same ch-2 sp, sc in each of next 119 sc, (sc, ch 2, sc) in ch-2 sp, sc in each of next 60 sc, (sc, ch 2, sc) in ch-2 sp, sc in each of next 119 sc, (sc, ch 2, sc) in ch-2 sp, sc in each of next 60 sc, sc in ch-2 sp, sl st in 2nd ch of beginning ch 3. ~ {121 sc on each of the long sides, 62 sc on each of the short sides}

Round 6: Sl st in ch-2 sp, ch 3, sc in same ch-2 sp, sc in each of next 121 sc, (sc, ch 2, sc) in ch-2 sp, sc in each of next 62 sc, (sc, ch 2, sc) in ch-2 sp, sc in each of next 121 sc, (sc, ch 2, sc) in ch-2 sp, sc in each of next 62 sc, sc in ch-2 sp, sl st in 2nd ch of beginning ch 3. ~ {123 sc on each of the long sides, 64 sc on each of the short sides}
