Striped Cake Scarf – a colorful, quick and easy knit!

The Striped Cake Scarf uses the color changes of cake yarn to determine when it’s time to change stitches. It’s fun and easy to make. Once you get going you won’t need the pattern, so it’s great for on-the-go knitting. This scarf is a good length and is rather wide so there are a lot of ways it can be styled. Choose a brightly colored yarn cake and bring some joy everywhere you go!

Christmas Slip Stitch Table Runner

A table runner for the holidays? Which holiday? With this table runner you can change the colors for any holiday of your choice, or just to match your décor. This slip stitch table runner is worked lengthwise with a new yarn used for every row. All the ends are then used to create fringe for the ends of the runner that hang off the table. The slip stitches add a nice design, and a little texture. This table runner is a great way to get in the holiday spirit.

Ball of Ladders

Grab your favorite color of Shawl in a Ball by Lion brand to create this fun shawl that looks like it’s full of tiny ladders. All you need is one ball to make this pretty triangle. The pattern is a super-simple 2 row repeat, so once you get the hang of it, it’s a great project to travel with, or to just sit and make while watching TV or chatting with friends. Use more or less yarn to make it larger or smaller.

Best Friend Sweaters – free crochet pattern!

These sweaters were created for a friend’s daughter and her friend. They are made from the top down, and are totally seamless. The lacy stitch and stripes add fun details and make them very unique. Wear them over your swimsuit or a tank top in the summer, and over a long sleeve top in the winter and they are useful year round! This pattern is written in one size, I do not have plans to add more sizes at this time.

After the Rain

This sweet little tank is a great accessory for any little girl’s summer! It can be worn with jeans, a skirt, or anything in between. This pattern is only available in child small, I may one day go back and make it in more sizes, but that would most likely be a paid pattern. For now, this is the size I needed for a fun piece for one of my daughters for Easter, so this is the size you get for free. 🙂 I made it using some leftover Lion Brand Modern Baby yarn from another rainbow project I made. You can make yours in just one color, or however many make you happy!!

This colorful and fun head scarf is quick to make! It uses a small amount of yarn, so you can make a bunch for gifts, or use up some of your leftover LB Cotton Bamboo Yarn from another project. There is no gauge listed, because it is not really a fitted item.

Chutes and Ladders Scarf
Knit Pattern
Easy Skill Level
Designed by Jessie Rayot

This scarf is a simple and fun way to show off your prettiest yarn. It is made in garter stitch, with some yarn overs added and then dropped to create a fun, off~kilter, look.

I had 1 skein of LB Collection® Silk Chiffon Ribbon Yarn, needed a great way to show it off, and a scarf seemed just right! I didn’t want the silk chiffon to have to take all the abuse that my scarves get, so I needed a yarn to work with it. I had some 1 ply yarn I had spun with my drop spindle, using Lion Brand Homespun roving (which can be purchased from the Lion Brand outlet in NJ). So I used those together. I have also made a second scarf using Heartland Thick & Quick and Homespun held together, for those looking for yarn you can pick up at most craft stores.

Getting Started:
Holding 2 strands of yarn together as one.
There are 2 sizes, the first is what I used with the silk and handspun yarn, the second is what I used with the Heartland and Homespun yarn.
When working with the silk chiffon, if it separates at a seam (which happened to me several times) just knot it back together. I really like the little ends poking out here and there! If they bother you, you can always sew the seams back together instead.

Row 1~ 3: K all. (9 (12) sts)

Row 5: K each st, drop each yarn over. (9 (12) sts)
Row 6 ~ 8: K all. (9 (12) sts)
Repeat rows 4 ~ 8: to desired length.
