Cap-ulet – a cap (beanie) to go with your Juliette shawl

| Baby & Toddler, Cascade Yarns, Children, Crochet, Free, Hat, Hats & Earwarmers, Size 3 Yarn

The Cap-ulet beanie is a v-stitch hat made to use the leftover yarn from the recent update of the Juliette continuous shawl. So now with just one cake of yarn you can have a stunning set to fancy up your get-up. You can also make more with other stash yarn. Make a whole set for the family! These hats are super cute and fun to customize with bows, flowers, or other embellishments. The sample in the pictures has a loom flower (tutorial HERE).

Dragon Tooth Wrap – a Jacob’s ladder knit pattern

| Free, Knit, Shawls & Wraps, Size 3 Yarn

This post may contain affiliate links. If you purchase something from one of these links I will be compensated. Thank you.

The Dragon Tooth Wrap is part of the Dragon Wing pattern series. It uses my knit version of the Jacob’s Ladder stitch to make a stylish wrap. The piece is knit until just a few rows are left, and then six sections of stitches are dropped and re-knit in chunks. This creates a great texture and added interest. There are so many ways to wear the Dragon Tooth Wrap, and it’s a great way to show off your favorite shawl pin.

Juliette Shawl – perfect for spring and won’t fall off!

| Cascade Yarns, Crochet, Free, Shawls & Wraps, Size 3 Yarn

This post may contain affiliate links. If you purchase something from one of these links I will be compensated. Thank you.

Every year I walk in the St. Patrick’s Day parade with my Girl Scout troop. This year I decided I needed a shawl. The Juliette Shawl is perfect for the coming spring, as its open stitch pattern keeps it from being too warm. The circular design keeps it from falling off, so no worries of losing my shawl somewhere on the parade route! Juliette is named after Juliette Gordon Low, the founder of the Girl Guides, which became the Girl Scouts. I used 1 scrumptious Frabjous Fibers Mad Hatter Mini Skein pack to create this vision in green.

4/23/20 I’ve updated this pattern to add stitch markers and just make it easier to follow. For the new sample I used Cascade Whirligig in Reds. This pattern was originally released on 3/12/15.

Extended Triangle Wrap – Knit with one skein of fabulous yarn!

| Free, King Cole Yarns, Knit, Shawls & Wraps, Size 3 Yarn

This post may contain affiliate links. If you purchase something from one of these links I will be compensated. Thank you.

The Extended Triangle Wrap is a design that’s been sitting in my “make me!” pile of sketches for quite some time. Knit with just one skein of yarn it’s fast and fun to make. First a triangle is knit, and then just one side is extended out to make this wrap. Long color yarn is this design’s best friend, and the King Cole Curiosity DK yarn used in the sample comes in quite a few beautiful colorways. The Extended Triangle Wrap is part of the 2020 Knit Along with KAL Corner.

Dog Walker Hat – with bonus leash pattern

| Crochet, Free, Hats & Earwarmers, Kraemer, Kreinik, Size 3 Yarn

This post may contain affiliate links. If you purchase something from one of these links I will be compensated. Thank you.

The Dog Walker Hat is stretchy and long, so it fits many sizes. It stretches for larger sizes and the bottom can be folded up for smaller sizes. It also uses a reflective carry-along thread so it reflects light. This makes it great for late night walks as it will reflect in car headlights so you are more likely to be seen. Plus, there’s a bonus leash pattern for your furry friend!

Hanging Bag Holder – Reuse and Stay Organized!

| Bags & Containers, Cascade Yarns, Crochet, Free, Other Non-Wearables, Size 3 Yarn

Hanging bag holders are a great way to help the planet and stay organized. When you end up with plastic bags, keep them in your holder and reuse them when you can. It seems like no matter how much I try to avoid using plastic bags, they always sneak into my house, so this hanging bag holder is quite handy.

Classic crochet stitches are great to know, and the linen stitch is by far a favorite of mine. It makes such a wonderful fabric and you can do so much with it by playing with color changes. The way I have used it in the October section of the Janet’s Garden CAL, it makes cute little dots!

Wavy Crochet Fun – Janet’s Garden CAL September

Wavy crochet fun is what I have in store for you with this month’s Janet’s Garden CAL section. This part makes some slightly popped waves that I enjoyed designing. This is another section that will need a good bit of blocking. If it’s still a little wavy after blocking, don’t fret; October’s section will get it in shape and you can block again then.

Broken Rib Crochet Washcloth – Part of the 2019 CAL Central Washcloth CAL

| CAL, Crochet, Free, Kitchen & Bath, Size 3 Yarn

This post may contain affiliate links. If you purchase something from one of these links I will be compensated. Thank you.

The Broken Rib Crochet Washcloth was inspired by my love for the broken rib knit stitch. I figured out how to get a similar look in crochet and it makes me so happy! This washcloth has great texture so it feels great and looks pretty as well. Pamper yourself while adding some lovely style to your home spa supplies. This pattern is listed as intermediate, however that is only because post stitches are considered intermediate. If you can make post stitches, then this should be an easy pattern for you.

Crochet Heart Stitch and Crochet Rose Stitch – Janet’s Garden CAL August

| CAL, Crochet, Kraemer, Size 3 Yarn

This post may contain affiliate links. If you purchase something from one of these links I will be compensated. Thank you.

Crochet heart stitch? Crochet rose stitch? That’s right, summer’s coming to a close and so we’re remembering the warmth with roses and hearts. These two stitch patterns are very sweet and can be incorporated into so many other projects. They are also fun to make.

The crochet heart stitches are made by working over shell stitches. The roses are made with popcorn stitches, which are one of the few stitches that require you to remove your crochet hook from your stitches. They also use dc cluster stitches for the leaves.

V-Stitch crochet is one of my favorite crochet techniques. It’s fast and so easy to make, plus it looks really nice. In July the Janet’s Garden CAL will grow using the double crochet v-stitch. If you are playing around with colors, then this is the perfect month to have some fun with color changes.

Now that you’ve made the center square of your blanket, it’s time to turn it on its side! That’s right, we’re making the sides into the corners and the corners into the sides. It’s way easier then it sounds, and super fun! Once you learn how to do this, you will be shifting squares left and right!
