While visiting my parents in Sicily this summer, my father asked me to make a scarf for his best friend’s birthday. We picked out yarn and a stitch pattern, and came up with this handsome scarf. It is quite simple to make, great for a traveling project. I have included a chart along with a written pattern. You can make this scarf with fingering/sock weight yarn, or you can change the starting chain length and use another weight yarn. This is a great unisex pattern to solve many of your gift~giving needs!

Crochet Dragon Wing Style Scarf

I have had so many requests for a crochet version of the Dragon Wing Cowl, that I just had to oblige! So here it is: the Dragon Wing Scarf. It is a bit longer and more flowy than the knit counterpart, and I really like it! There are notes on how to make it shorter if you want to button it as a cowl, but I really like the scarf. The Crystal Palace Panda Pearl yarn is perfect for this fashionable accessory. It’s so very soft and luscious!

Textured Waves Scarf

This spectacular scarf has a similar look to short rows, without using short rows! Instead, stitches of different heights are used to make the growing and shrinking rows. Three color ways of Lion Brand Textures are used in this scarf, though you could also use 3 skeins of the same colorway and get a more muted, yet still very nifty, effect. So, grab your Lion Brand yarn and hook and get ready for the colder weather.

I love those big infinity scarves with solid sections and open sections. Chained to Infinity is my version of one of those fun scarves. It has alternating angled single crochet sections and chain sections. I made my sample in a color that is similar to Pantone’s 2015 Color of the Year: Marsala.

The pattern is written in 3 lengths, so you can choose the look you like the best! Candy Ribbons was named by Marsha N., a creative member of the Crochet Lounge group on Facebook. She came up with the name because the cowl reminds her of the candy ribbons you sometimes see at Christmas time. Thank you, Marsha!

Skylark is not your typical scarf. It is made at an angle, a little off kilter, and a little wider than most scarves, making it a cross between a scarf and a wrap. There is a diagonal stripe of contrasting color every several rows. Skylark is sure to get attention wherever you go!
