Basic Boho Crochet Scarf
Easy Skill Level
Designed by Jessie Rayot
The Basic Boho Scarf will have you at the height of fashion in no time at all. Whether you are new to crochet or a seasoned expert, you can make this scarf! It is stitched in long rows with long tails left and tied together as fringe. It can be made from a bunch of scrap yarn or just one. So grab some fun yarn and get stitching!!
There will be a knit version of this scarf in a couple weeks, and I will link it here when it’s published.
Any, samples are about 80″ x 4″
Any, depending on the look you want. See the samples for ideas.
US-N, 9.00 mm crochet hook – or whatever size works best with the thickest yarn you are using in your scarf.
optional – beads for fringe
Stitches and Abbreviations:
ch – chain
sc – single crochet
st(s) – stitch(es)
Start and end each row with at least a 10″ tail to make long fringe. Each row is worked in the opposite direction of the previous row.
In order to figure out your starting chain amount, you may need to make a small swatch. Make a single crochet swatch that is at least 4″ long and 2″ tall. Measure 4″ inside the swatch and count how many stitches are there. Divide that number by 4 (do not round) and then multiply it by your desired length. This is your starting chain amount.
Options: Here are some ideas to make the pattern fit your skill and style!
Add beads to the ends of the tassels.
Row 1 can be made with a row of foundation single crochet instead of the starting chain and single crochets.
After working row 1, add rows to both sides instead of always working on the same side.
Ch to desired scarf length, cut yarn and pull through last st to fasten off.
Row 1: Start with a slip knot on hook, sc in each st to end, cut yarn and pull through last st to fasten off.
Repeat row 1 to desired width.
Cut additional fringe pieces if desired and thread them through the ends of the scarf, tie fringes together in small groups.
Wear or give and enjoy!
