Fall Houses Lace Shawl features blocks of lace that look like little houses off-set in solid stripes. The shawl is then finished up with a unique eyelet border. The lace sections are made in a variegated yarn and the stripes are made in colors picked out from the variegated yarn. You will be able to keep warm in stunning fall fashion with the Fall Houses Lace Shawl.

The yarn for this design was provided by Sugar Bush Yarns. All opinions are my own

co – cast on
k – knit
kfb – knit front and back
k2tog – knit 2 together
pm – place marker
psso – pass slipped stitch over
rs – right side
sm – slip marker
sp(s) – space(s)
st(s) – stitch(es)
ws – wrong side
yo – yarn over

Special Stitches:
inc6 – increase 6 – (a yo is dropped before this stitch so there is enough yarn to make this stitch) knit in the front, back, front, back, front, back and front again all in the same st. This will turn 1 stitch into 7.
kfbf – knit front, back, front all in the same st.

Getting Started:
This shawl can be made darker by replacing the pink with a dark grey or even black, if you really want to be dark.
Row counts are listed for each side, so that means from the start of the row to the marker just before the center stitch, then from the marker after the center stitch to the end of the row. Row counts are at the end of each row after the period, if the count has changed from the previous row. – {count here}
Yarn can be carried along the edge of the work and not cut unless specified, simply wrap the working yarn around the carried yarn each time the edge with the yarn is reached.

  1. Is there a correction for row 8 on Lace section 2? I end row 6 with 70 stitches, purl row 7, and follow directions for row 8 and cannot get it to end correctly. I just counted the stitches in the directions for row 8 and cannot get them to equal the 71 stitches I should have after I knit it.

    Help!! 🙂

    • Oh, dear!! I’m not sure what happened but it is wrong. I fixed it, so it should work now. I’m so sorry about that. Thank you for pointing it out so I could fix it. 🙂
