I think I showed you the beginning of this horsey holder. It’s all done now. I really like it. Plus, free, always a bonus!!

Spooky house and other cute moments

The other day the girls and I spent $3.00 at the grocery store on a pack of Halloween cut outs. We then put them in the front windows and on the front door.

Now every time we come home Vada says “Hi, Spooky House.” It’s kinda adorable!

Chaos

Yup, chaos. Kind of explains a lot going on right now. I seem to have a decent routine on school mornings up unit I get home from taking the girls to school. Then it’s just a bit, well, chaotic. I’m working on getting into a routine during the school days. It seems like there is just more to do then time in the day. Market some days, laundry others, cleaning (always cleaning), organizing all the stuff in the basement, garage, spare room (which will one day be Kyla’s room), working on my designs/patterns, and, of course, spending time with you, my blogland friends. I know I can.

First Floor

I have snaps of the first floor to share with all of you. Let me start by reminding you we are still moving in. As a matter of fact, as I type this Doug is making the last few runs from the apartment to the house to get the last of our stuff. I still have to go back to the apartment and clean the heck out of it. Fun.

Anyway, we are still moving. There are boxes everywhere, accompanied by piles of “stuff” that needs to find homes. It’s a wreck. But you’ll just have to deal with the wreck if you want to see the pictures.

Also, we have a next~year~or~two plan of things that need to happen as soon as we have the money to do them (we really don’t want to charge anything,) and a 5~to~8~year~plan of things we want to have done to get the house to our dream home. I will share some of our ideas for the first plan, the second one will only cement your suspicions that I am completely off my rocker.

Ready?

Here we go.

Keys!!

We signed yesterday afternoon and got our keys! We then drove over to the house and found that the sellers had left the pink rose wreath on the door. Isn’t it pretty? While we are looking, don’t you love the floating door? I think it is Doug’s biggest gripe about the house. The front door will be moving eventually anyway, so we will deal with it until then.

Look Mom; I’m cleaning!

Have I told you all how much I LOVE CafeMom?  It’s a great site for mommies of all ages, from those just thinking about becoming moms, to those with great~grandkids. There are some amazing groups with wonderful ladies who have helped me through all sorts of things, and many who have become my friends. If you ever have a single mommy~related question, just go there to get some great advise. There is even an amazing group full of crock~pot recipes. How cool is that?

Anyway, back to the topic. A few weeks ago I got a message from CafeMom. It turns out in my use of their lovely site, I was entered in a drawing to win a Roomba, and I won! It was actually the day before my birthday. Again, very cool.

So, today, this showed up.

Feeling Better

I am finally starting to feel healthy again. Just the last remaining bits of congestion, but other then that, I am feeling good. I am also finally getting out of my funk.

Now that I am feeling better, these past two days have been very productive. I got a good bit of cleaning done. I went through some piles of paper that needed to be dealt with; and I even organized the foot tall stack of paper that needs to be scanned into categories (phone, car, medical and so on) so I can start scanning them in an organized fashion!

I came up with a plan and put it in motion to get my recipes in order. Every week I make a menu, and enter the recipes in a great recipe organizer on the internet, where I can also put my menu on a calendar. I did do that for this week, and even printed out the recipes onto index cards and put tabs in my index card box to keep them organized. I figure if I do this every week, eventually all my recipes will be in order. On the website, I can rate the recipes, and put tags on them, so that will help with picking out menus in the future. I still want the printed out index cards, so I don’t have to take the laptop into my tiny kitchen. I’m very excited about this, because I have so many magazines laying about with recipes I want to try, and a many, many bookmarked web pages with recipes, also. Maybe I’m just silly that way, but

mmmm-coffee

My morning. Could use work.

So I am giving this another shot. I need something to motivate me. I am hoping this will help. It makes me feel accountable to all my (imaginary) readers!

I had a slow start this morning. I did a very quick pick up of things that needed to be out of the reach of little hands. Later, this just amused me.

Those-don't-go-there

I don’t think that is really where the remotes and the pot holder go. Oh well. I hadn’t had my coffee yet. So off to the kitchen I went for my morning Joe.
