I have had so many requests for a crochet version of the Dragon Wing Cowl, that I just had to oblige! So here it is: the Dragon Wing Scarf. It is a bit longer and more flowy than the knit counterpart, and I really like it! There are notes on how to make it shorter if you want to button it as a cowl, but I really like the scarf. The Crystal Palace Panda Pearl yarn is perfect for this fashionable accessory. It’s so very soft and luscious!

Textured Waves Scarf
This spectacular scarf has a similar look to short rows, without using short rows! Instead, stitches of different heights are used to make the growing and shrinking rows. Three color ways of Lion Brand Textures are used in this scarf, though you could also use 3 skeins of the same colorway and get a more muted, yet still very nifty, effect. So, grab your Lion Brand yarn and hook and get ready for the colder weather.

You could even make an adult size if you can find a tee shirt large enough!

Elaina’s Noggin Cover
This hat was made as a gift for the daughter of my dear friend, Jon. Jon posted a picture of a pink hat on Facebook and mentioned that Elaina would look adorable in it. I happened to agree, so I thought I would make one for her. It took me a while to decide how to do the earflaps and bottom stripe. I like those to be doubled for warmth. I finally decided to start with the cord at the bottom of the earflaps, and make both of them in the round. Then I made the first stripe, and added the ear flaps. Both the ear flaps and the bottom stripe are 2 layers thick, so Elaina’s adorable little head will be nice and warm. I decided this hat is so cute that her mom needed one in her favorite colors, so I wrote the pattern for kiddos and adults. PLUS: They glow in the dark!! Check out the notes section to see how.
