Quick Scrap Yarn Slip Stitch Bracelet – Free Crochet Pattern

This bracelet is a great way to use up those little balls of yarn you have tucked away! They also make great last minute gifts. You can even choose your team colors to show your spirit. These bracelets work great as wrist warmers as well. You can make them as skinny or wide as you want, and any size you need! I find them very simple to make, but slip stitch crochet is considered an intermediate skill, hence the intermediate listing on this pattern. Enjoy!

Playing with color makes me happy

Hello my friends! How are all of you? I have been under the weather in a rather miserable way, but I am starting to feel better, and should be back to myself in a week. Thankfully, I got everything straightened out with Flickr/Yahoo and am able to sign into my Flickr account again. I have not had the chance to get some snaps of my Katherine coat yet, but I will soon. I have a few testers going, and am … Read more

Ugg ~ passwords!!

So I was going to put up a short post with just a few pictures for you this evening. But I did a little laptop cleaning earlier and now I have to re~sign into everything. It seems my Flickr account is attached to an old yahoo account I don’t use anymore, and the backup email they have to send the new password is an old work account I don’t have anymore. Blech!! So I am unable to get into my … Read more

Katherine Hood, take 2

I am determined to finish the Katherine coat and pattern this week and start testing it! It has been in the same state as it was when I wore it to the Knit and Crochet show for over a month!

Katherine-back

The hood was a bit too long. It was very fun, but it just wouldn’t stay on, so I frogged it. See, here is the hood:

A Party, A Yarn Bomb, and Some Bright Colors!

Hello my friends! On Saturday we went to a bounce house for my niece’s fifth birthday party. It was actually just the three girls, Kyla, Vada, and my niece, Madison. They ran around the place for 2 hours, they had a blast! As with every bounce house we have been to lately, they had these bouncy horse things.  Kyla just loves them. At one point, the girls decided that they had to have a race. Of course, it ended up … Read more

Swing, Swing, Swing

I am working on getting into the new swing of things around here. I have been much more busy, but very happy. It is a lot of fun working with yarn companies and publications! After taking the littles to school, I spend the school day in the basement, working on patterns and samples, and paperwork. OK, the paperwork is not tons of fun, but the rest is! Usually about twice a week I do have to go our for errands, such … Read more

Faded Ripple ~ Free Crochet Pattern

This ripple pattern puts a new twist on a classic afghan crochet pattern. This stitch pattern works for afghans/throws, or wraps, or scarves, or a variety of other projects. Faded ripple is a great stitch to use with stripes, as it gives a pretty detail to color changes. It can be used with just about any size yarn and the coordinating hook. I do not recommend novelty yarns, as the textures of the yarn can make the stitches difficult or just take away from the look of the stitch pattern.

Happy 40th Doug!

Before I go on with anything else, a little tease: I HAVE A FREE CROCHET PATTERN FOR YOU!!! I just have to finish my sample. I will be another day or two. It’s pretty. Today was (is for a few more minutes) Doug’s 40th birthday. It was quite the day. Yesterday after dinner the girls and I decorated for Halloween. I yarn bombed the railing on our front steps. Kyla helped with moral support. She is very good at that. … Read more
