Raised Stripes Scarf ~ Free Crochet Pattern

Raised Stripes Scarf Crochet Pattern Intermediate Skill Level Designed by Jessie Rayot This scarf gets its name from the front post stitches running down it. The scarf is created with several sets of a front post followed by a back post, all with regular hdc stitches in between. This makes the scarf fully reversible, looking the same on both sides! I AM In Love With Color!

What a lovely day this has been so far! After sleeping in until 8:30 (yes, that is sleeping in for me), I had some breakfast and went to get to work on some new patterns. I opened up my laptop and noticed I had some messages on Ravelry. They were comments on a new pattern of mine. A pattern I had not put up. I was pleasantly surprised to see that not only had Red Heart posted one of the … Read more

Ready-To-Buy-A-Tree

Shhh…It’s a sneak peek…

I have finally found a photographer to work with!! I had been looking for a college or high school student photographer to team up with for a while. I like the idea of being able to provide someone just starting out with a way to expand their portfolio, and get some advertising/publicity. It turns out there is a young woman who lives just few blocks from me who  fits that bill! Her name is Emily, do you want to see some of her work? Here it is.

Over the next few months you will start to see her photos featured in my patterns. I also am hoping to get some shots of myself for a new business card (my mentor told me to put my face on my card,) and also some shots of my Katherine coat. I have shortened the hood so it actually stays on, and finished the belt and pockets since this photo:

Pretties in the works

One of the hardest things about selling designs is having to sit on things. Any design that I may want to sell to a yarn company, magazine, or some other website/company/what~have~you, I have to keep quite. No one will buy it if I have posted photos of it, and once I sell it, I can’t share until it is published. Obviously I can’t share the pattern at that point, but I can share where you can get the pattern, and … Read more

Make It Work

Long before a certain famous man that I am quite fond of made that phase his own, I used to say that my name was actually “Jessie Make It Work” or “Jessie Fix It.” Some things never change. Then again… Life is never what you expect. *for those of you wondering what the point of this post is: I am having one of those life moments when it is time to charge forward or pack it in, and of course … Read more

Spool Knit Fun and Other Goodies

I hope you all had a lovely weekend, and that your week is turning out well. We’ve had some fun here. I used one of my new~to~me tea pots for the first time. It was an Earl Gray kind of day.

Tea-Crochet-and-Chewy

On Sunday the girls and I decided it was time for a spool knitting tea party. They had received spool knitting kits from my parents (who are now stationed in Sicily) for Christmas, and with the plague we had going around, I hadn’t had a chance to teach them yet.

Re~Skirt or What to do with Old Jeans

Finally! A yarnie post for you! I know, I’ve had a lot of family photos and stories to share lately. Time for yarn!! First, I promised you a while back that I would share how I have been taking my photos as of late. I have had several people ask how to get good pattern photos indoors, without good daylight. So here is my pattern photo corner in my basement. I hung a piece of light blue linen from a … Read more

Holidays 2013

Well hello there! Did you have a nice Holiday Season? We did. OK, we had a bit of the plague, but other then that it was lovely. The weekend before Christmas the girls went to my in~laws.
