This hat gets its name from the front post stitches running down the hat, and the color stripes running around the hat. The bottom of the hat is made in a front post/back post rib stitch, and can be folded up for a shorter hat, left down for a warm long hat, or just the front folded up so the sides and back still keep your ears and neck warm. The texture of this hat creates a fun look for any age. There are many photos of finished hats to help you come up with color and stripe ideas. Make a set with the fun Raised Stripe Scarf!

Getting Started:
This pattern is written without telling you when to change colors. The reason for that is the horizontal color stripes are up to you. Use the pictures in the pattern to find a stripe you like, or come up with your own. Do what makes you happy!
There are many pictures to help you as you make this hat. In addition I have also made a video to show a few of the techniques.
