Awesome Breastforms We give you back your curves!

Awesome Breastforms: We give you back your curves!

Awesome Breastforms We give you back your curves!

Hello!! I have something beyond awesome to share with you today!! A friend of mine, Laurel, is part of an amazing organization that everyone should know about. I had her write a bit about it, so I am going to share what she had to say with you all, then I am going to make sure you all have the info you need if you are a knitter or crocheter who wants to help, or if you are a woman who could be helped by this organization.

Here is what Laurel has to say:

Awesome Breastforms are created by a group of women who have come together for the singular purpose of crocheting or knitting handmade prosthetics for women who have had mastectomy or lumpectomy surgery. Our forms are made of high quality 100% cotton yarn. They are cooler, lighter and much more comfortable than traditional silicone prosthetics. Awesome breastforms are completely washable and easily adjustable to create the perfect fit! You have several color options when ordering, as well as choosing if your form is made with or without nipples. When you place an Awesome Breastform in your bra, you will be surprised at how similar it feels to a natural breast. In fact, many women say they soon forget they are wearing them!

At Pennsic 2015

Hello my friends! You may have noticed that I haven’t had quite as many posts as usual lately. If you remember, I spent 2 weeks visiting my parents in Sicily, and now I am spending another 2 weeks in PA at a crazy medieval recreation event known as Pennsic. My mom is here with us, and my brother and his boys came for a few days as well. We have all been having a great time. I am doing my … Read more

Auryn ~ Twisted and Twirled MKAL #2

Auryn ~ free knit pattern for Twisted and Twirled MKAL by Jessie At Home

Auryn

Twisted and Twirled Knit Necklace #2
Free Knit Pattern
Easy Skill Level
Designed by Jessie Rayot

The second necklace in the Twisted and Twirled Knit necklace series is made with stockinette stitch in the round, this means only knit stitches!. It has 3 twists in it, and rolls in on itself for lots of twisty, twirly fun! This swirly necklace can be worked up in no time with less than 35 yards of DK weight yarn. Auryn is named after the medallion in The Neverending Story ~ because Dragonfly fibers made me think of dragons which made me think of Falkor, the Luckdragon from The Neverending Story, but I wanted a name that sounded more female, so I went with Auryn (OR~in). Aren’t you glad you asked?

The yarn used in this sample was donated by Dragonfly Fibers for the Marly Bird Designer Dinner at the summer 2015 TNNA Needlearts Trade Show.

This necklace is part of the Twisted and Twirled MKAL (Mystery Knit ALong).
