The Candy Shawl is made side to side, and features sections of garter stitch and mesh. The only stitches used are knits, yarn overs, and increases (knit front and back).

Use a color-changing yarn cake and the yarn does all the color work for you. That means you don’t have a lot of ends to weave in. This worsted weight shawl is nice and warm and great for cold days and evenings. Make it in bright colors and brighten up a cold day!

The yarn for this design was provided by Premier. All opinions are my own.

  1. What shape is this when completed? I read that it is knit from side to side, but I’m 90 rows into it and it’s a triangle shape with all the increases on one side and no decreases in the pattern, I’m not understanding how it is knit from side to side when it appears to be worked from the bottom up.

  2. Hello! I am only on row 66, but it appears as if the increase happened on the opposite side in the mesh section than in the regular garter stitch sections. Did I do something majorly wrong or is this something that will be corrected with blocking?

  3. Hi,, when you have 2 stitches remaining on the first mesh section, do you yo k1, yo k1, or yo k2 together? I am on row 39 and have 23 stitches. Sorry to be dense about this!
