Granny’s Hood – brighten up your winter with this happy scoodie!

Granny’s Hood is actually a scoodie: a scarf with an attached hood. The scarf is made with granny squares, and the hood is made with sides of 1/4 circle grannies, and granny squares down the center. Bright, happy, rainbow colors of Sugar Bush Bold yarn are used making this piece full of joy. Due to the way the scoodie is constructed, it fits many sizes. The parts of the scoodie are joined using the join-as-you-go method, so there is no seaming. If you want the scarf to be longer or shorter, just add or subtract squares from the scarf section, it’s quite simple. Brighten up the white winter with Granny’s Hood!

Six Post Yarmulke – Makes a great gift, spread some love!

A lovely woman in my knit and crochet group suggested we make Yarmulkes and send them to Tree of Life Synagogue to show love, friendship, and solidarity. I thought that was a perfect idea! I made a few single crochet versions and then decided I wanted to make some that were more “me”. So I came up with the Six Post Yarmulke. It’s made out of post stitches and features six increases in each round to symbolize the six points of the Star of David. The pattern will work with nearly any yarn in any weight up to DK or Worsted (yarn that is too thick will make a VERY thick Yarmulke.) Just choose your yarn and a coordinating hook, then follow the pattern and just keep going until you’ve reached the size you want. Happy crocheting, and use or gift your Yarmulke in peace and friendship.

Flower Head

When I was asked to join the Chic Sheep blog tour I was so honored. I love Chic Sheep yarn! The lovely colors inspired me to make a hat with a flower center. The flower turns into a hexagon and then into the sides of the hat. Choose the same colors as seen in the pattern, or come up with a color combo of your own!
