Happy Monday my friends! Have you ever found yourself on the website for FiberWild? It’s a yarn shop owned by Sean and Amy Loberg. Well, a yarn shop and so much more. I had the pleasure of meeting Sean at the summer ’15 TNNA trade show. Sean contacted me about a week ago, asking if I could help him get the word out on a new venture on the FiberWild site. When he told me about the venture, it sounded like something you would all love, so I told him I’d love to share the details with you!
FibreWild now has a “Make Along” (MAL) Connection. “Make Along” is a term used to encompass both Knit Alongs and Crochet Alongs, as Sean feels both knit and crochet should be catered to by yarn shops. It’s too bad I don’t live close to Galena, Illinois, I’d sure love to hang out in the shop! As for the Make Along Connection, it’s still growing and in its early stages, but Sean says “Over time, we hope that this section of our website becomes the destination for knitters and crocheters to “shop” for a KAL/CAL, and get all the supplies and support they need to compliment “Alongs”. Lots of great ideas here, this is just the beginning!”

The fifth necklace in the Twisted and Twirled Knit necklace series features an interesting way of adding tucks into your knitting to make little puffs. It’s made with Aunt Lydia’s Baker’s Cotton, which is what brought about the name. It also has 4 twists in it to spin the puffs around. This necklace works up quickly with less than 70 yards of fingering/thread weight yarn.
Hello! The October issues of I Like Crochet and I Like Knitting are out. It’s been awhile since I’ve shared about these two publications, and I wanted to remind you of their awesomeness!! Both issues include over 30 fall patterns, tips and techniques. PLUS, I Like Crochet includes a pattern by yours truly!
Both publications are online magazines which are published bimonthly with around 30 projects and 7 tutorials in each issue. This hat was made as a gift for the daughter of my dear friend, Jon. Jon posted a picture of a pink hat on Facebook and mentioned that Elaina would look adorable in it. I happened to agree, so I thought I would make one for her. It took me a while to decide how to do the earflaps and bottom stripe. I like those to be doubled for warmth. I finally decided to start with the cord at the bottom of the earflaps, and make both of them in the round. Then I made the first stripe, and added the ear flaps. Both the ear flaps and the bottom stripe are 2 layers thick, so Elaina’s adorable little head will be nice and warm. I decided this hat is so cute that her mom needed one in her favorite colors, so I wrote the pattern for kiddos and adults. PLUS: They glow in the dark!! Check out the notes section to see how.
Oh my goodness, I am so excited to share a new feature with you!!! I know I am more crochet focused, but I REALLY love knitting as well, and I am working on increasing my knitting patterns.
