Well, as of this past Thursday, Craft Hope Project 19 is all wrapped up! The girls and I made our deliveries, and had a fun (and slightly stressful) adventure.

All-Packed-UpPin

Doug helped me pack up the 371 softies into Thor ~ my trusty TrailBlazer.

The girls strapped into the back, and Owlivia sat up front with me to supervise the delivery of herself and her 370 closest friends. Then we drove over to the first drop off.

I had contacted Bergen County United Way for advice on where to distribute some of the softies. They put me in touch with North Jersey Vineyard Church. The church members have been working hard to assist in the repair and rebuilding of homes devastated by Sandy. They plan on distributing the 250 softies we left them when they are out helping in those areas.

After the delivery, there were just a few boxes left. Owlivia, the girls, and I braved the rather stressful drive to Hoboken. I had forgotten that driving to Hoboken is basically the same as driving into NYC. In other words: Not. Fun.

Oh well, we had a purpose and some traffic and stressful driving was not going to stop us! So, we braved it all and made it to the Boys & Girls Club of Hoboken.

In addition to the 371 softies received for Project 19, we also received a box full of these adorable hand made finger puppets. Wafa & Gisel from the B&G Club were quite taken with the little fellows. They will be kept at the club for the kids play with while they are at the club. The rest of the softies will be distributed to the kids to keep. The Hoboken Club will give out 70 softies, and they will also be giving the last 50 softies to the Jersey City Club for their kids.

We had a great time at the B&G club! We were there while the kids were still in school, so it was rather empty.

Wafa gave us a tour. This is the gym. It had been totally destroyed by Sandy, so it is newly renovated.

B&G-Club-Teen-RoomPin

The teen room is also newly renovated. Pretty cool, huh? Know why? The Katie Couric show gave them a hand after Sandy.

B&G-Club-knit-seatPin

I am IN LOVE with this Ottoman. It is fabric strips braided together and then knitted into a big ol’ ball. I may see a pattern in my future.

Isn’t this nifty? Who would of thought a cardboard chandelier would be so cool?

Two more of them in the back of the room!

B&G-Club-KitchenPin

The kitchen was redone as well.

Upstairs there are several class rooms. The building is very old and has the greatest ceiling.

Beautiful, isn’t it?

Thank you everyone who helped with project 19. Remember to keep checking in on Craft Hope for future projects. Project 20 is underway right now!
