If you have a yarnie online business, I have a must-read book to share with you! Design It, Promote It, Sell It: Online Marketing for Your Crochet and Knit Patterns will teach you what you need to know to get your patterns out there and in front of the people who want them.

You may remember that I reviewed another of Marie’s books – Make Money Teaching Crochet – a couple years ago. Just as before, I am so happy to share this one with you.
Marie breaks down marketing your patterns into easy to manage steps. She guides you through the process in a way that is very user-friendly. As with her previous book, Marie explains things in a way that even a beginner can understand, but the information is still useful to someone who has been in the business for a while. I certainly learned some new skills reading this book.
This book is organized into five sections:
● A Crash Course in Marketing provides an overview of marketing strategy, with
questions to ask yourself and relevant examples for pattern designers.
● How To Promote Your Patterns Online is an introduction to the 15 major ways
designers can promote their patterns online.
● What To Post Online shares inspiration for promoting your next pattern.
● Using Analytics To Make Life Easier (and More Profitable) helps you understand
where to focus your marketing energy, time, and budget.
● Questionnaires, Checklists, and Resources includes an annotated list of my favorite
free and low-cost resources for promoting your patterns online. Use the questionnaires
and the checklists to help you get the most out of this book.
As you can see, the last section of the book includes worksheets for you to use when you put these practices in action. Marie challenges you to look at yourself and your business and evaluate what will work best for you; but don’t worry, she guides you all the way along.
