“The ultimate tragedy is not the oppression and cruelty by the bad people but the silence over that by the good people.” — Dr Martin Luther King Jr

Starting several weeks ago various members of the Joy Creators/Stitch Ambassadors for Spinrite/Yarnspirations/Red Heart started sending emails to Spinrite asking them to take a stand against racism and make and implement an actionable plan to ensure inclusion and anti-racism in their company and in those they choose to represent them. These emails fell on deaf ears.

After many emails, pleas, and screams into the void, enough was enough. BIPOC Joy Creators Nadia Fuad and Maire Segares, resigned from the Joy Creators, and with Jennifer Dickerson, Ashley Konecny, Lorene Eppolite, and myself who stood in solidarity with our BIPOC colleagues and BIPOC makers everywhere.

Nadia wrote more about this in an open letter that you can read here: https://yarnutopia.com/2020/06/23/an-open-letter-to-the-yarn-community/

I also spoke about this in my live this morning, as seen below.
