Excuse me, I’m off to see the wizard.

When I was younger *did I just say that?* I used to have this button. It had a psychedelic background and said “Excuse me, I’m off to see the wizard.” I used to wear it on days when I felt a like my mind and my body were in two different worlds.

If I had that button now, I’d have been wearing it for the past month.

This whole house~buying~thing has me a little off~kilter, even for me. So I’ve decided to just ignore the crazy and live life anyway. For years I’ve been saying “when we have a house, I’ll start…” or, “I’ll be better about … when we have a house.” I’ve blamed this dinky little apartment for more then it’s share of…stuff.

Now there are some things that really do have to wait a month or so until we are in the house. Like actually having a sewing/craft room, or having a spot to put the Nordic Track so that I can actually use it, or someplace for my piano, so I can finally start playing again. I miss my piano. And yes, the kitchen here is beyond tiny, so I will wait to get fancy with cooking, and have a stand alone freezer until we are move into the house.

The rest of the stuff? It’s mine. I have to take ownership. So I have started setting my alarm again. I used to wake up at 7am on my own, but the past several months I have been sleeping in ’till 8 or occasionally as late as 9. When I sleep in I have to get the girls up right away, shower while they eat, and half the time I end up in pajamas all day. When I get up at 7, there is time to shower, dress, get the girl’s cloths out, and their breakfast made before I get them up at 8 or 8:30. Plus, I tend to just feel better all day, and get more done. The calmer I start the day, the better the day goes. With my history of depression, it is important that I do what I can to be calm. Too many days in a row of crazy, rushed mornings and I start to feel very down.

So this week I have started taking control of my life again. I’ve been getting up at 7, and getting things done all day. I feel so much better.

I finally finished this tunic for Doug. I had the pants done months ago, but this tunic has been almost done and sitting around since then. We have a medieval wedding to go to in July, and this will be a nice outfit for him.

Don’t get me wrong, I wasn’t sitting around doing nothing for the past few months. But since I put out the last batch of patterns just over a month ago, I have really been doing a lot less then I used to. I did, however, make this little thread/yarn end trash and organizer, around a crochet thread spool. It’s lined with piece of a chip bag (inside out) to make it easy to clean out.

So that is about it for now. I’ll leave you with some cuteness from the girls.

Last time the girls spent the weekend with their Nana and Poppy, they left us this bear next to our bed to protect us while they were away. I left him there the whole time.

Yesterday, they decided I needed “Spiderman shadow and skeleton” to watch over my laptop. I don’t have the heart to explain who he really is, and Spiderman shadow and skeleton is just too cute to my warped little brain, so I just go with it.

Talk to you soon!
