This month we’re going to crochet a cluster stitch border around our blanket. This is the first half of the border, we’re almost done!

Horizontal rectangle with a square image of the corner of a striped sampler crochet blanket with a cluster stitch border, all in light rainbow colors on the left of the rectangle and a smaller square image of just the border on the right of the image. Above that is text which reads "Suzie's Striped Sampler Part 9 - October", "2021 Blanket CAL", and "Jessie At Home."Pin

The yarn for this design was provided by WeCrochet. All opinions are my own.

On the third Thursday of each month a new part of the CAL will be released. For all the details and links to each part, CLICK HERE for the January post.

Sometimes adapting a crochet stitch to be used as a border on a blanket can be a bit of a pain. Figuring out how many stitches to add in the corners, and how to get those corners to look good on your crochet borders isn’t always easy. With this post you’ll learn how to crochet a border around a blanket using the cluster stitch.

Upon finishing this first half of the border, the corners will look like you put in too many increases. Don’t worry, it will even out with the second half. If you’re using this border on another pattern and not making the second half of the border, you may want to only place 4 sc in each corner after the cluster stitch rounds, instead of 6.
