The hooks reviewed in this post were provided by Louet. All opinions are my own.

[pullquote width=”700″ float=”center”]Kollage Squareâ„¢ Hooks enable you to crochet with less strain on your hands and wrists. Squareâ„¢ hooks are perfect for crocheters who have arthritis, carpal tunnel, or stiffness in their wrists and fingers.[/pullquote]

Kollage square crochet hooks come with a lifetime warranty. They are available in sizes A to N. Sizes A to E are made from stainless steel, and sizes F and up are made from a lightweight aluminum alloy, all sizes have wooden handles.

I have found that I prefer wood hooks because the wood feels nice in my hands. It doesn’t get super hot or cold, but maintains a nice warm temperature. It’s not as hard as metal, but doesn’t bend like some of my plastic hooks do. As for the square shape, I really liked that as well. It was easy to manipulate my hook as I needed, and it always stayed as I wanted it. No slipping around. I found I did not hold on as tightly to these hooks as I do to traditional hooks, which meant less strain on my hands.

I also think it’s great that each size comes in both pointed and rounded tips. I tend to prefer pointed tips, I like that they will go into any part of the stitch I need, even if I’m trying to go into a small space. On some projects, such as those made with a more splitty yarn, a pointed tip is nice. Of course, not everyone is the same, so you can choose the style that best fits your needs.

I was given two 4.5mm hooks to try out (one rounded and one pointed) and two more to give to one of you! So if you would like a chance to win your own hooks to try out, enter below.
