The Loops and Ladders Shawl creates interest with post stitches mixed into linen stitches, and some open mesh on the edge. Use just one hank of Wonderland yarns Cheshire Cat yarn to make this shawl. Style it in a multitude of ways depending on the look you want!

55″ across by 25″ long

Yarn:
Wonderland Yarns Cheshire Cat (fingering weight); Uncommon Nonsense: Fabulous Monsters #103

Hook:
US-G/6, 4.0mm

Gauge:
25 sts x 20 rows = 4” [10 cm] in linen stitch after blocking

Other supplies:
1 stitch marker
yarn needle

ch – chain
bpsc – back post single crochet
fptc – front post treble crochet
sc – single crochet
sp(s) – space(s)
st(s) – stitch(es)
tr – treble crochet

Pattern:
Row 1: Ch 2, (sc, ch 2, sc) in first ch made. ~ 4 sts
Row 2: Turn, sc in sc, ch 1, (sc, ch 2, sc) in ch-2 sp, ch 1, sc in last sc. ~ 8 sts
Row 3: Turn, sc in sc, ch 1, sc in ch-1 sp, ch 1, (sc, ch 2, sc) in ch-2 sp, ch 1, sc in ch-1 sp, ch 1, sc in last sc. ~ 12 sts
Row 4: Turn, sc in sc, ch 1, [sc in ch-1 sp, ch 1] 2 times, (sc, ch 2, sc) in ch-2 sp, ch 1, [sc in ch-1 sp, ch 1] 2 times, sc in last sc. ~ 16 sts
Row 5: Turn, sc in sc, ch 1, [sc in ch-1 sp, ch 1] to ch-2 sp, (sc, ch 2, sc) in ch-2 sp, ch 1, [sc in ch-1 sp, ch 1] to last sc of previous row, sc in last sc.
Rows 6-19: Repeat row 5.
Row 20: Turn, ch 5 (counts as first tc and ch-1 sp) , fptr around first sc, ch 1, [fptr around next sc, ch 1] to ch-2 sp, (tr, ch 2, tr) in ch-2 sp, ch 1, [fptr around next sc, ch 1] through last sc, tr in last sc. ~ there will be a fptr around the last sc AND a ch 1 then a tr in the last sc as well.
Row 21: Turn, (sc, ch 1, sc) in first tr, ch 1, [bpsc around next tr, ch 1] to ch-2 sp, (sc, ch 2, sc) in ch-2 sp, ch 1, [bpsc around next tr, ch 1] to beginning ch-5 of previous row, (sc, ch 1, sc) in ch-5 sp.
Rows 22-39: Turn, sc in sc, ch 1, [sc in ch-1 sp, ch 1] to ch-2 sp, (sc, ch 2, sc) in ch-2 sp, ch 1, [sc in ch-1 sp, ch 1] to last sc of previous row, sc in last sc.
Repeat rows 20-39 two more times (79 rows total so far)
Repeat rows 20-26 once more (86 rows total so far)
Row 87: Turn, sc in first st, ch 5, sc in first ch-1 sp, [ch 5, skip 1 ch-1 sp, sc in next ch-1 sp] to ch-2 corner, ch 5, (sc, ch 5, place marker on ch-5 just made, sc) in ch-2 corner, ch 5, sc in next ch-1 sp,  [ch 5, skip 1 ch-1 sp, sc in next ch-1 sp] to end of row, ch 5, sc in last sc.
Row 88: Turn, ch 5, sc in first ch-5 sp, [ch 5, sc in next ch-5 sp] through ch-5 before marked ch-5, (ch 5, sc, ch 5, place marker on ch-5 just made, sc) all in marked ch-5, [ch 5, sc in next ch-5 sp] through last ch-5, ch 5, sc in last ch-5 sp again.

Weave in ends and block shawl.
