The origami swan is not only graceful and beautiful, but it is also quick and easy to make. This is a great piece for someone just learning origami. It can be made from paper that is the same color on both sides, but if the paper is different colors on each side then there is a little bit of the contrasting color showing for some added interest.
To begin the origami swan, fold a square piece of paper in half diagonally with the color that you want to be the main color on the outside. Unfold.
Fold two adjoining sides in to the center line as shown.
Turn piece over.
Fold the two long sides in to the center line.
Fold the bottom up to the top.
Fold the top down a small amount (this will be the head).
Fold the entire piece in half along the original fold line.
Pull the neck up and recrease the fold, pull the head up and recrease the fold.
Your origami swan is done – easy peasy!
