I promise, this Faux Brioche Scarf really is crochet! It is thick, squishy, super warm, and reversible. Upon first look, this scarf appears to be made from a knit brioche stitch, but it is actually crochet post stitches. The Lion Brand Heartland yarn makes it both soft and durable. Choose two colors that make you happy and make this scarf your very own. It is easy to make your scarf any size you would like by changing the cast on amount and the number of rows. This scarf makes a wonderful traveling project.

A tutorial for post stitches can be found HERE.
front post half double crochet (fphdc): yo, insert hook from front to back, and the from back to front again around the post of the stitch you are working into, pushing that stitch to the front, yo, pull through (3 loops on hook), yo, pull through all 3 loops.
Start and end each row with a 10″ tail for fringe.
Row 1: With Color A, ch 200, cut yarn and fasten off.
Row 2: Turn, with Color B make a slip knot and place loop on hook, hdc in each ch across, cut yarn and fasten off.
Row 3: Turn, with Color A make a slip knot and place loop on hook, fphdc around each st across, cut yarn and fasten off.
Repeat Row 3, changing color each row, 26 more times.
Add more fringe if desired. Scarf in sample had one strand of each color folded in half and added to every set of 2 rows (fringe was attached around the outer stitches of 2 rows) this way the scarf did not flair at the bottom.
Trim fringe to desired length.
