So here we have it, about a month late, the first post of our Pennsic 39 vacation. I was still working on bits and pieces of projects to the very last minute. Here we have the girls giving me a hand getting the floor pieces ready the day before we left.
They take after their Grandpa, little carpenters!
It was quite a trip. We left at 6am Saturday morning, I thought that would be plenty early. Now neither girl has ever had carsickness issues, and we have made many long car trips. However, for some reason, Kyla had issues this time around. So what is normally a 6-7 hour trip took us 9 hours, and by the time we got their, my car smelled very bad and Kyla was in her third outfit of the day. After our long drive, we still had an hour waiting in the car line to get in. The girls were glad to be out of the car and waited very patiently.
Eventually Daddy got bored and challenged them to a sword fight, while my mom looked on.
Kyla and Vada found Roman, a cute boy, in the line next to us, and made friends. Here they are with Roman and his mommy.
We got the girls tent up first, and gave them a new toy to keep them entertained while we got our tent up, and a few other things done.
We got a good bit done on Saturday, but there was still a lot more to do on Sunday. We started the morning with our traditional first Sunday breakfast at Browns with our friends Elana and Adriana. The girls loved having chocolate milk in cups with straws. Fun!!!
After breakfast we went back to camp and did more set up. We still had Mom’s new pavilion to set up ~ she had spent Saturday night in our pavilion.
Kyla inspected the inside as the tent went up.
Quality control was wearing Kyla out, so Vada took over.
Just a pretty picture Mom took of the center pole. She was very excited about having her own pavilion. She was like a kid on Christmas morning. It was very cute.
Ta~da, Mom’s pretty pavilion with a 12′ fly. Very cool.
Did I tell you we were crazy enough to rent a truck with 2 other families? Well we were. It made it possible to bring all our new stuff (tent floors, closets, kitchen) out, but now that it is there, I have no interest in ever renting a truck again.
The girls were a big help unloading the truck.
Vada had to take the biggest things possible.
After all that unloading, it was time for a water break!
Couldn’t resist sharing Vada’s wonderful bed head with all of you!
We bought a wagon for the girls, they loved it!
It provided another great way to keep them entertained and out of the way as we got set up.
Let’s finish up with an adorable snap of Vada and Lady Elana having a little morning bonding.
I’ll post more later, this is all I can handle for tonight. Have a great evening my friends!

HI Jess,
I’m putting a few of my pictures on facebook now but I’ve only made it as far as Kansas so far. I enjoyed looking at your Pennsic picturs. I love you,
