Well, Sandy is past and we are quite lucky. We only lost power for about 19 hours from Monday evening to Tuesday afternoon. The girls are off from school all week, Doug has been out from both jobs through today, and he will be off at least one of them tomorrow. Halloween has been postponed until Monday.
We heard a few thumps during the storm. Doug ran out to rescue this piece of siding that came down.
This is where it belonged. It is back now.
The house also lost the drain pipe from the front left corner. You can kind of see the opening in the gutter where the pipe should be attached.
Here you can see that we seem to have a front left corner issue. The garage also lost that drain pipe ~ see it over to the left? Both pipes are back up now, as well.
The pumpkins even made their way back out yesterday afternoon!
The girls have been enjoying the newly organized playroom. Kyla has all her ducks in a row.
At one point they got out the headlights and went on a “Monster Hunt!!!” They didn’t find any monsters.
The girls are re~discovering a lot of toys that were buried in the mess the playroom used to be. They put on a lovely little marionette show for me.
Doug and the girls did some yard work today.
The girls really worked hard…
…really, they did…
…eventually.
I have been working hard at some items for our school’s Holiday Boutique, in the hopes of bringing in a little bit of money. I hope to have some more crafty snaps for you tomorrow.
Hope you are all safe, dry and warm. Stay tuned for a new collaborative project announcement coming soon. It will be a good way for us crafty types to do something for those hit hardest by Sandy.
