This shell stitch blanket is quick and easy to make. Worked in a bulky yarn with a large hook, it can be made in a few days, making it great for a last minute gift! Made in 3 colors, you can carry the yarn along the sides so there aren’t hundreds of ends to weave in, which is always a bonus. So grab you 3 favorite colors of Red Heart Soft Essentials and get to work!

  1. In the Shell Stitch Baby Blanket, you specify Colors A, B, and C. In the list of materials you show color A and color C are identical – is that what you meant? I am guessing that one of those colors is white or off white. Thank you!

  2. I also have a question about width. If I want to make the afghan wider, how should I figure that? Add multiples of 9? Thank you.

  3. If this is multiple of 10, how come your first row is chain 86? Am I not understanding something? Will your response come right to my email? I’m worry about missing the answer. I want to a larger size blanket using Bernat blanket yarn, which is a super bulky yarn. Thanks for your help!
