Hello my blogland friends! Last week I went to the Snap 2018 Bloggers Conference in Salt Lake City. I had so much fun with my friends, I made some great contacts, and I took some awesome classes.

Now that I’m home and unpacking I realize I need to make room for some of my new goodies, so at the end of this post will be a giveaway for a box of crafty supplies. There will be some yarnie items in there, but there will also be other craft items in there as well. It’s a mystery!!

Tamara and Jess making spoons with PlaidPin

Thursday’s opening reception featured several make and takes, including a fun wood burning and painting craft. Here we have my friends Tamara and Jess crafting away.

Katy looking radiant as alwaysPin

Here we have my young friend Katy at the reception looking radiant as always. This was her first blogger conference and she did awesome! You can read about her experience HERE.

Crochet Bloggers DinnerPin

After the reception the Crochet Bloggers all went out to dinner. Here we are from the left front around to the right front: Marie of Underground Crafter, Elana of Beatrice Ryan Designs, Kirsten of Kirsten Holloway Designs, Mary Beth of Hooked for Life, Katy (not a crochet blogger, she’s Mary Beth’s daughter) of Beauty and the Blonde, Jennifer of A Crocheted Simplicity, Jess of Make and Do Crew, Susan of Felted Button, Linda of Linda Dean Crochet, Tamara of Moogly, and Kathy of ELK Studio.

Hair clip from CanonPin

On Friday I took some classes and met some sponsors. When I was at the Canon booth I made this fun little hair clip. Isn’t it adorable?

80's partyPin

On Friday night there was a great 80’s party. Not everyone dressed up, but a few of us did to varying degrees. Here I am with Tamara, Kirsten, and Jess in our 80’s get-up. After the party a bunch of us hung out in Tamara and my room until 3 am, we were all a bit groggy on Saturday.

Ready for classPin

Somehow I managed to take a Saturday morning class. This one was just for fun. It was an embroidery class by Bev of Flamingo Toes. I adore her blog and she was just as fun as I thought she would be.

Starting my Flamingo Toes embroideryPin

Bev was a great teacher, I learned a new stitch. See those woven roses above? Pretty cool, aren’t they? The above photo was just about as far as I got in class, but I took a photo of the sample and finished it at home.

My embroideryPin

Here it is all done. I’m very happy with it. Now I just need to decide what to do with it. You can see how I finished off the piece on my Zendazzle post.

final night dinnerPin

Saturday was the last day of the conference, and most of us had planes leaving at varying times on Suday. On Saturday evening those of us left went out for one last dinner. I always come home from these events exhausted from all the info and lack of sleep, and completely renewed and ready to take on the world from what I learned and from spending time with my awesome tribe.

  1. Thank you for sharing about your SNAP adventures! I wasn’t able to go this year and am living vicariously through those who did. It sounds like you had a great time. Hopefully I’ll see you there in 2019!!
