Woolly Wormhead Round Up

Today’s round up features patterns by Woolly Wormhead. Woolly’s patterns are fabulous and fun! They are very unique and beautiful works of art. I had the pleasure of meeting the lovely lady behind these patterns last month, and she is just as unique and fun as her patterns. When I met her, she gave me a coupon code for 1 free pattern and another for 1 free ebook. I asked her if instead of using them for myself, I could hold a giveaway to give them to 2 of you. She said yes! So make sure to read through this whole post so that you can enter the giveaway!

Woolly has both free and sale patterns, mostly knit, but a few crochet. I have done my best to put together a nice selection for you. You can find out more about Woolly Wormhead and her patterns here.

Here are the names and links of each pattern, along with a little something about each of them.

1) Spiral Play
Not an exact pattern, as these Hats are freeform, so this is a pattern guide come tutorial outlining a way of working, relevant techniques, joining and generally how I go about making my Spiral Hats.

2) Mushroom Cap
This new version of this pattern includes fresh photographs, a range of sizes and both UK & US terms. The pattern has been thoroughly revised by a crochet tech editor.

3) Meret
Instructions are provided in both written and charted format.

4) Hexed
Inspired by a hat I designed from crocheted ‘granny square’ hexagons, it was time for a knitted version.

5) Symtrie
This beret pattern makes the most of the colourways of sock yarn, by using a simple chevron based pattern to create multiple lines of symmetry and reflection.

6) Quatra

7) Sherbet Fountain
Colourwork pattern knitted sideways to create this striking retro pattern!

8) ColdHarbour Twist
Knitting pattern suitable for intermediates or adventurous beginners. This Hat uses bias knitting techniques to create shape and pattern. The pattern is worked bottom up and in the round, and pattern is provided in written format.

9) Runnin’ Beanie
To fit size: 20-22”/50-56cm with notes for altering sizes – easily done with different yarns and gauges.

Don’t forget to check out some of the other great Round Ups that have happened in Blogland over the last week!
