Oh boy, do I have some fun in store for you!!

This April 23rd, 2016, I will be hosting a yarn and wine tasting with my friends at Royal Rabbit Vineyards in Parkton, Maryland. I have a page that I will keep updating with the details and the sponsors, here.

I could use a little help from those of you who would like to attend. We have some things that we know, and others that we are still sorting. Here is what we know:

  • There will be tables (around 7 of them) with various yarn and yarn accessories for everyone to try. Each table should have pretty much the same things at them, so you don’t have to switch tables. This is the yarn tasting portion.
  • There will be door prizes given throughout the event. We will pick names from a container, and the winners will be removed so no one can win twice unless we have more prizes then attendees.
  • There will be goodie bags of yarn and notions given to everyone as you leave.
  • There will be wine tastings throughout the event.
  • There will be cheeses and some other edibles to go with the wine.

Here is what we have yet to sort.

  • Time: we’re thinking 3 hours?
  • Time: should it be in the afternoon (maybe 2 – 5) or the evening ( 6 – 9 or 7 – 10)
  • Price range: this will be impacted by our actual expenses, but my goal is that the goodie bag itself will be worth more than the cost of the ticket. Right now, the price range looks to be $30 to $50 per ticket.

This is where you can help. Take a look at that list above and comment to this post with your thoughts on the time, and let me know if you would be able to go in that price range. Remember that the goodies bags will hopefully be worth MORE then the ticket price, plus you are getting the actual wine and yarn tasting and there are door prizes.

We would love for this to become an annual event. Maybe in coming years we will have 2, one in the afternoon and one in the evening, and maybe it will grow to twice a year, who knows? For now, though, we are going to give just one a go, and see what happens. We already have a growing list of sponsors, and I imagine it will grow some more as people come back from the holiday break next week.

I have a sneak peek for you as well. Our first sponsor products have arrived already! Unicorn Fibre has provided items for 2 door prizes, plus 3 sample size products and a coupon (not pictured) for EVERY goodie bag. Yay!! As always, Unicorn Fibre is awesome!

Let me know your thoughts, and keep checking the Yarn and Wine Tasting 2016 page to see who our sponsors are. I will also post reviews/features for each sponsor through 2016, most likely one per week.

  1. I would like to see the afternoon hours myself. The price per ticket seems reasonable if you plan on giving out goodies, door prizes, etc. sounds like a good time!

  2. Hi. I would love to come. I’m in MD so I’m close enough. One comment, not sure how much it would matter, but the 2-5 would be best since its the first night of Passover.

  3. Hello! I live in NJ but would love to attend. I’m not sure how far this would be for me but the early time would be best. If I come, I will bring a friend or two.
