There are a couple reasons for this post title. First of all ~ the rain. It rained Saturday night and all day Sunday. Doug’s school is right by a rather large river. He went to work on Monday, as all the smaller rivers were slowly draining the excess rain water into the large river by his school. Eventually, it was too much water and the town started to flood. He has been off the rest of the week. The girls have really enjoyed having him around.
Remember my basket making post? I said I had to teach some friends how to make the baskets, also? That was this weekend. On Saturday, one of our Medieval groups had a Medieval University. It was basically a day full of classes to share the various Medieval arts and crafts we knew. I taught basket making to three lovely ladies, unfortunately, I forgot to take pictures. I did bring the camera to the class. I even dropped it in the basket water. Luckily I fished it out in time, and all was well. I do have pictures from the day, just none from the class.
At the beginning of the day, Doug took the girls outside to play in the playground. The site we were at was a church with a preschool, and they had a wonderful playground. It was just right for our girls. They loved that they were able to play on the whole thing without needing help from Daddy. There were a few slides, and much sliding fun!
There was also a little house to play in, and to peer out from.
So much to do! I made a list of everything I want to have done by the end of Doug’s Spring Break ~ which is the first week of April. I have a lot to do.
But first things first ~ this is what happens when I leave the girls home alone with Daddy…
That would be a chocolate covered peanut butter bar in her hand.
Doug had a snow day on Friday.
Wonder why?

The girls are eating lunch, then it will be “nap” time ~ I say “nap” because they tend to play for at least half the time, though they do sometimes nap for the second half.
Anyway, it is almost “nap” time, so I have started prepping some of the contents of the boxes.

I’ve been patiently waiting until later today to open them.

I am finally starting to feel healthy again. Just the last remaining bits of congestion, but other then that, I am feeling good. I am also finally getting out of my funk.
Now that I am feeling better, these past two days have been very productive. I got a good bit of cleaning done. I went through some piles of paper that needed to be dealt with; and I even organized the foot tall stack of paper that needs to be scanned into categories (phone, car, medical and so on) so I can start scanning them in an organized fashion!
I came up with a plan and put it in motion to get my recipes in order. Every week I make a menu, and enter the recipes in a great recipe organizer on the internet, where I can also put my menu on a calendar. I did do that for this week, and even printed out the recipes onto index cards and put tabs in my index card box to keep them organized. I figure if I do this every week, eventually all my recipes will be in order. On the website, I can rate the recipes, and put tags on them, so that will help with picking out menus in the future. I still want the printed out index cards, so I don’t have to take the laptop into my tiny kitchen. I’m very excited about this, because I have so many magazines laying about with recipes I want to try, and a many, many bookmarked web pages with recipes, also. Maybe I’m just silly that way, but
