I have a new-to-me company to share with you! Brightech makes beautiful lamps of superb quality and they are priced very reasonably. Today I’m going to tell you about a magnifying lamp I received to review, and I even get to give one away to one of you.

Brightech contacted me to see if I would be interested in reviewing one of their magnifying lamps and also giving one away to one of my readers. I looked through the various magnifying lams that they carry, and decided on the LightView XL Magnifying Glass Light: 2in1 Floor Standing to Table Lamp. I thought the fact that it could either be a floor lamp or a table lamp would make it very useful, and I loved that the brightness could be adjusted.
When I received the box I was surprised by how heavy it was. It was packed very well so that it would have no problem in shipping. Upon opening the box and removing the lamp parts (base, lamp with arm, and arm extender for the floor lamp option), I understood why the box was so heavy. The base was heavily weighted so that the lamp can be extended over your work with no worry of it tipping over. In addition, all the parts were clearly made of high quality materials, so I have confidence that it will last a long time to come.
I set up the light as a floor lamp. If you look at the above picture you can see the power cord comes out of the center of the lamp where the movable arm starts. The pole below this point is removable to turn the light into a desk lamp. The connections are easy to use, yet they also feel quite sturdy.
The light itself is easy to use. There is a power switch on the rim, and a touch pad on the rim to adjust the brightness of the light. There is a cover that opens up to expose the magnifying area. The lens features 225% magnification strength aka 2.25x. This makes it quite useful for small craftwork such as some needlepoint, beading, jewelry making, fine paint work, and more. I’m thinking it would be useful for weeding intricate designs cut out with my Cricut as well!
The adjustable arm has great reach and is also easy to use. It locks tight in place so you can get it just where you want it and have no worry of it moving.
I am impressed with the quality of every aspect of this light!
