Daisy ~ Free Crochet Skirt Pattern

Daisy is a fashionable flared skirt perfect for the spring and summer! This skirt works as a swimsuit cover up for the beach, or as everyday wear over tight shorts or leggings. Made with Lion Brand Modern Baby yarn, this skirt can be machine washed, which is always nice for children’s clothing!! Daisy got her name because the pattern is a variation on the Juliette shawl. Juliette was named after Juliette Gordon Low, the founder of the Girl Guides (which became the Girl Scouts) and her nickname was Daisy.

Getting Started:
The waistband on this pattern is made so that 3/4″ elastic can be run through it without creating a lot of extra bulk. If you have purchased one of my crochet skirt sale patterns with my “less bulky waistband” you can certainly use that as a replacement for this. I do like that one better, but for now it is only part of my sale patterns.

Finish off and weave in ends.

Cut 3/4″ elastic to the size needed, plus 1″. Run the elastic under the bptr from round 3 of the waistband. Overlap the ends by 1″ and sew them together.
I usually cut the elastic to the size of the wearer’s waist, after overlapping it 1″ and sewing it together, it is usually perfect.

Enjoy!

  1. I am wondering about round 9 where it says to skip 3. Should I only skip two like earlier in the pattern to get the correct number of groups? When I skipped three. I did not get 80 groups of stitches.
