Easter and Other Fun

Hello my friends! It’s time to catch up a bit with you. I am still trying to find my footing with this new schedule, but I am slowly getting on top of it.

Last week I was honored that my dear friend Deborah of Designs from Grammy’s Heart, with Love, spent the week sharing about me. Aww! She started the week with a post about me, and ended the week with a round up of some of my patterns. Deborah is one of the many amazing ladies I have met since I started this yarnie adventure. She was always sharing wonderful things in my Facebook group, and there was just something about her that I really liked. I am so happy she is now on this journey with me, and I look forward to the day I finally get that hug from her.

I also have a stockpile of photos to share with you today. I have tried to put them into collages so this post doesn’t go on forever.

A few weeks ago we got our troop cookie delivery. Here is a snap of the girls in the cleaned out dining room, waiting for the cookies, and then a few snaps of all the cookies ready to be separated into piles for each Girl Scout. We didn’t sell as many cookies this year, but we did OK. We will still be able to pay for the Camporee in June, and a couple other fun outings with the girls. It is always nice when we can pay for outings with the troop money, as not every family is financially able to pay for all the events we would like to do. We try to mix educational and fun events, so that we have a nice variety. Although, I do have to say that the educational events are a lot of fun to! A couple weeks ago we took the girls on a museum trip and we all had a great time!

Girl Scout Cookies 2015Pin

When the girls sold candy and magazines with the Girl Scouts at the beginning of the school year, their Uncle Tom got them a gift subscription to highlights. Last week one of the issues arrived. After the girls looked through it they took out some art supplies and started making stuff. At one point I got curious and went to see what they were up to. They had the magazine open and were making the crafts. There were a couple Easter decorations and a fling the fly at the frog game. You can see Vada has the frog on top of a bucket and she is using a spoon to fling a crumpled up piece of black construction paper in its mouth.

Oh, the bottom right picture is Kyla dancing on some air cushion packing.

The girls decided the Easter Bunny needed some gifts, so they made him some. As always, I made Polish pickled eggs for Doug’s step-father for Easter.

Easter Prep 2015Pin

Here we have some Easter morning snaps, including the girls opening the giant chocolate eggs with toys inside from Italy.

The girls got all dressed up for Easter at Nana’s. Kyla has on the skirt I just made for her, and the princess jewelry from her Italian egg, and Vada has on the tank top I made her. Both of those patterns should be making their appearances here in the next month or so.

As always there was an Easter egg hunt at Nana’s with the cousins. Uncle Steve helped Kyla with the tree eggs.

We also celebrated Doug’s Grandmother’s 99th birthday. The bottom left is her with her kids, grandkids, and great grandkids. ♥

That’s all for now. I hope you all had a wonderful Easter, Passover, or spring weekend! 🙂
