Fuzzy earwarmers are super fun, unique, and a great way to use up your scrap yarn. They use less than 80 yds as the base yarn, and lots of 4″ pieces to make your fuzz! You can use up random scraps for the 4″ pieces like in the sample pictured, you an make color patterns, or you can even use all the same yarn. Just go with what makes you happy!

Special Technique:
Knit With Scrap (KWS): Take a scrap piece of yarn and fold it in half to create a loop, insert needle into the next st as normal, place the scrap yarn loop over right needle and pull it through the stitch along with working yarn. This will create 2 loops on the right needle instead of the normal 1, when working the next round, knit them together.
This is basically the same as a thrummed stitch, and will result in the ends of the scrap yarn hanging on the inside of the stitch.
Getting Started:
Round counts are at the end of each row after the period, if the count has changed from the previous round. – {count here}
Pattern:
CO 62 (72, 82, 92, 102)
Rnds 1-3: [K1, p1] around, place marker.
Rnd 4: [Kws, p1] around.
Rnd 5: [K1, p1] around.
Repeat Rnds 4 & 5 until piece measures 3″.
Bind off all stitches, then weave in end leaving a tail to mix in with the rest.

I am new to knitting, do you have a video showing the KWS stitches? Thank you
No at this time. You basically just pull the center of the scrap of yarn through the stitch on the left needle at the same time as you pull the new stitch through.
