I will try to catch you up on the goings~on of the past couple weeks.

Tea-PartyPin

I don’t remember when this was, but the girls were having a cute little tea party. I love Vada’s little pinky sticking up.

Kyla-in-ChalkPin

I know I shared with you when the girls were going outside to make art. Here is the portrait of Kyla they made. When I went out to bring them lunch, Kyla was laying on the driveway and Vada was tracing her. (I park about half way up our very long driveway, and they are not allowed to pass my car, this leaves  a bit of driveway that is still behind my car where they can draw, along with a small cement section behind our house, before the grass starts.)

Megans-Grad-PartyPin

Our niece, Megan, graduated from collage, and her folks had a little party for her. We all had a good time.

Fourth-of-July-Hospital-LunchPin

So I know I told you that last Wednesday night I went to the ER because the pain from a few months ago had come back. I ended up in surgery on Wednesday night because the pain was actually from an abscess. Once all the recovery is done, things should be fine now. My parents were here from Tuesday to Tuesday, so that was helpful. The girls get into the Liberty Science Center for free this summer with a Girl Scout patch they have, and I had gotten 2 sets of 2 tickets from Groupon, so on Thursday Doug gave my parents one set of tickets and the patches and had them take the girls. They had fun.

I was released Friday afternoon. The picture above is the Fourth of July lunch special at the hospital on Friday.

Helping-Grandpa-CookPin

I think these are pictures my mom took on Thursday night. The girls are helping Grandpa make dinner.

Birthday-CakePin

The girls will be 7 on Sunday. Seeing as how my parents were leaving before their birthday, the girls decided we needed to have a little birthday party while my parents were here. So they got Grammy to help them make a chocolate cake. Grammy and Grandpa wrapped some presents and we had a little afternoon party.

Present-TimePin

They each got a tackle box ~Kyla’s is princess, and Vada’s is SpiderMan, and they also got a set of Frozen puzzles. A day or two later my Dad went out and bought them a few more gifts as well: some cute socks, a Disney Princess CD, and the Frozen DVD.

Fishing-and-hanging-outPin

The girls love hanging out with Grammy and Grandpa, and they really love going fishing with them!

Making-Garb-Pennsic-2014Pin

Now, somehow, before I leave for the Knit and Crochet show in less than 2 weeks, I need to make the girls a new Medieval wardrobe (as we will be going straight from the show to Pennsic for 2 weeks), and I need to finish all the various patterns and samples I was planning on having done before the show. I am a bit behind.

Not-Surprise-Square-For-LorenePin

My dear friend Lorene had her baby last month. There is a group of crochet designers and bloggers on Facebook that have become good friends, and we are making her a *not so* secret blanket. We are all making 8″ squares and sending them off to Kim, who will put them together into a blanket and send it off to Lorene. These are the yarns I have chosen. At this point the only secret is what the finished blanket will look like, so I will have to wait to share my square until Lorene has received the blanket.

Well, I did my best to catch you up. Wish me luck getting everything done in time for the show and Pennsic!! Hopefully I will talk to you soon, now that I am starting to feel more human again.
