V-Stitch crochet is one of my favorite crochet techniques. It’s fast and so easy to make, plus it looks really nice. In July the Janet’s Garden CAL will grow using the double crochet v-stitch. If you are playing around with colors, then this is the perfect month to have some fun with color changes.
Find all the details and also additional useful links about Janet’s CAL HERE.
Yarn support for the Janet’s Garden CAL was provided by Kraemer Yarns. You can find Kraemer’s at the following links: Website, Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, YouTube, and Instagram. I also highly recommend signing up for their newsletter. This way you’ll know what’s new at Kraemer and also be entered in the monthly drawing for $100 of yarn. You can also find a coupon code for Kraemer Yarn on the January Janet’s CAL Post HERE.

I am having a problem getting the right stitch count on row 35. I get 106 sts on row 34 by having 52 v sts and the 1 dc per side in the corners. As I read row 35 on each side there is a v st worked in the corner and in each v st across SKIPPING the single dc which only gives me 108 sts, not 110. What am I getting wrong? Maybe a close up shot of the corners would help me.
Hmmmm…it looks like you’re right. I would follow the instructions as written and not worry if the count is off by 2 for this section. I’ll take a look and make sure the next section starts off right.
I pulled up the photograph and it looked like there were 53 vsts on row 34 so I adjusted for that (vst all the way across rather than skipping one dc) then worked the following rows as written which achieved the correct count.
