Catching up ~ Gardening and Crafting!

Here are some old photos of the girls helping out neighbor garden, and making fun crafts. Lots of cuteness going on! OK, this is about a month old, but too cute not to share. It was a morning when the weather was a bit too chilly to go for a walk, but we were in an “outing” kind of mood. So I packed up the girls and we drove over to AC Moore to find some fun $1 crafts. Snow Day! ^_^

Doug had a snow day on Friday. Wonder why? Kyla says “Hey Daddy, that’s a lot of snow!” OK, so it was more like “Daddy! Sooooo!”

Contest entries

Every other month I receive my issue of Creative Home Arts magazine, full of fun crafty ideas. Lots o’ the ideas within come from the readers. Every issue they announce a contest with prizes ranging from $25 to $750. They also show the winners from 2 issues prior. With this issue there was a last call for a card making contest, and the announcement of a needle arts contest. You can use something you already made; it does not have … Read more

Some of my Christmas crafts

Back in November I had Doug grab a bin of mine from his mother’s attic. It was full of unfinished Christmas crafts. There were a bunch of these little cross-stitch squares and those little round plastic music “boxes” to go with them. I seem to have lost the rest of … Read more

Flower Hexagon Granny How-To

In my search for a hexagon granny to make blankets for my girls, I just couldn’t find one that I really LOVED. Then I realized that there were some gorgeous crocheted flowers with six sides, and I could make a hexagon granny from one of those. So this pattern was born.

All Together Now

1, 2, 3, 4, can I have a little more? 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, teeeeeen I love you! All together now… Guess where we went today? John Lennon!!! The exhibit was in Montclair. I love going to Montclair, it’s a great city, with awesome art and stores. So it was not surprising that they ended up with the exhibit. It’s only up for the weekend.

Pieces of my day

I love Wednesdays. Every other(ish) Wednesday morning is started by going to visit my friend, Jenn. Her girls are 3 1/2 and 4 1/2, wonderful playmates for my 2 year old girls. The four girls play in the playroom, and Jenn and I sit in the living room, chatting and crafting. Most of the time knitting or crocheting. When we don’t go to Jenn’s we tend to have PJs day at home. The middle of our day goes as most. … Read more
