Summer!!! I wanted to do a summer themed round up, and I couldn’t decide on a theme. So…the theme is summer round ups. That’s right, this is a round up of round ups. I’m a little kookie that way.

WAK Crochet Kit Review and Giveaway
Hello there my friends! I have a fun company to introduce to you, along with a product review and a giveaway!
We Are Knitters is an international online knitting and fashion brand based out of Madrid, Spain with a strong online and offline presence throughout Europe. We Are Knitters’ product offerings includes a wide range of DIY knitting and crochet kits, which contain everything you need to knit or crochet your own unique garment or other item, including the yarn balls, wooden needles, pattern, sewing needle, and a We Are Knitters tag to sew into the finished product.
One thing I love about the site is the customer photos. As I was looking through the kits, it was so helpful to see the pictures of finished items for each kit made by actual customers. It’s one thing to sell a kit, it’s another to sell a kit that actually works! The customer pictures show that the kits work, and that is something I find rather useful to know, don’t you? 😉
When I was asked to review a crochet kit, I took a look through the available kits. I always have a pile of hooks, needles, notes, yarn balls, and various what~nots sitting on the couch next to me. The Chess Basket kit seemed to be the solution to that problem. I looked at the available colors and found an olive green that would look lovely on my couch!
The kit arrived very quickly for being shipped from abroad! It was so fun to
Camporee !!
This weekend was the Girl Scout Camporee for our Service Unit. The girls had a blast. I could go on for quite some time about it, but in an attempt to not write the longest post in blogging history, I will just share some snaps and tell you a bit about each. Please pardon some of the fuzzy photos. I was too paranoid to bring my good camera, so all these snaps were taken with my phone.
The girls and I were the first in our troop to arrive.
Patriotic Party CAL/KAL Week 8
The Patriotic Party CAL/KAL is drawing to a close, one more week left!! Oh my! Last week I released a new pattern for the CAL. Isn’t it fun?
I have one more pattern to share with you this week, and then next Monday will be the last post of this CAL/KAL. In the meantime,
Memorial Day and other Family Fun
It’s been some time since I have shared family photos with you all! So here are some fun snaps and a bit about what we have all been up to over the last month or so
Star Wars Day (May the Fourth be with you!) was on a Monday, so Doug and the girls celebrated on Sunday with lots of Star Wars toys. It was adorable.
Star Coaster
This star coaster is made using the entrelac method of knitting. No worries if you have not made entrelac before, though! The pattern is written and also includes a video of the full pattern. These neat little stars can also be used to make bunting, or even as appliques. Have fun with them!!
Star Trivet or Centerpiece
This star crochet pattern can be used as a trivet or a centerpiece. If your gauge is the same as mine, I have marked where to stop the pattern for the trivet, or you can go all the way to the end to make the centerpiece. However, you do not have to match my gauge for this pattern to work! It will just be a different size. Please remember to stay safe: don’t use meltable yarn for a trivet, and this pattern is not intended to be used as a potholder.
This pattern is part of the Patriotic Party CAL/KAL.
Wednesday Round Up ~ Girls Patterns
There is something so fun and adorable about little girls in crochet. Maybe I am biased, but I know my 2 girls get so excited when I crochet something for them. So here is a collection of crochet patterns you can make for the little girls in your life. Enjoy!
Here are the names and links of each pattern, along with a little something that each designer has to say about them.
I’m in Interweave!
I received a package yesterday that reminded me I forgot to share something with you! With all the craziness of the TNNA show, the end of the school year, and taking 12 Girl Scout Brownies camping this weekend, things have gotten away from me.
Remember my Waterfall Necklace that earned an honorable mention in the accessories category of the 2014 CGOA Design Competition? Well, the pattern has finally been published, and look who I published it with!!
I may have gotten a bit happy about being in Interweave Crochet and bought a few extras. But I needed one for
