The yarn for this design was provided by Hobbii. All opinions are my own.

When Hobbii asked me to create a pattern for the Candyland DIY Challenge, I was thrilled. I love an excuse to add to my winter holiday patterns. The moment I saw the Panettone yarn I knew I had to use it. Look at that sparkle, it just screams holidays, doesn’t it?

I came up with an idea that’s easy to make for any crochet skill level, and is a showstopper. The Candyland Ruffled Christmas Tree is going to impress all your holiday guests.

BONUS: You can hang your decorative stitch markers off it as little ornaments!

  • How do you enter the challenge?

  • Do you have to use this or other specific patterns?
  • If you’re here after the Challenge is over, is there another one you can enter?

Let me answer those questions for you.

To enter, share at least one Instagram post of a Christmas creation made with Hobbii yarn on December 17, 2023. You must use the hashtag #HobbiiCandylandDIY. You must post on December 17th no later than 23.59 CET. And you must be based in a country where Hobbii ships (see their website).

There will be 3 winners, who will be announced and reposted in the @hobbii_yarn Instagram feed on December 18th. The prize packages will include 20 skeins of Friends Cotton 8/4 in the winner’s favorite colors.

You can use any knit or crochet pattern you like, or even create your own. The Candyland Ruffled Christmas Tree free crochet pattern is a great option, if you ask me.

Hobbii has new challenges every month. You can find them HERE. Most have a prize of a Hobbii gift certificate. Who doesn’t love free yarn?

Finishing

  • Place bottom of dowel in a small bowl filled with whatever works to hold the dowel upright. I used party bead necklaces.
  • Clip decorative stitch markers on tree for ornaments.
  • Find or make a tree topper.
