I’ve wanted to design and make a knit circle pouch for quite some time, but the right yarn never came along. I wanted something that would work when I went to Medieval reenactment events with my knight in shining armor, aka my husband Doug, so I needed a yarn that looked like it fit into the time period, but also a yarn that I liked and that would hold up to the stress of being a belt bag. As someone who enjoys diving into creative endeavors, I have to confess that I only knit at a basic level and have struggled with learning how to crochet. In fact, I grew-up with a grandmother that constantly crocheted beautiful pieces, but I could never master the skill… really, the only thing I managed to accomplish was frustrating her to no end.
Recently my daughter, Tess, has taken up her great-grandmother’s mantle and taught herself how to crochet. I’m continually surprised by what she comes up with.
That’s why I was completely thrilled
After making the Skylark in Wonderland wrap, I couldn’t help but notice that it would seam together to make a really fun skirt. I even had a feeling the angle of it would work nicely for plus size figures as well. So I dove into my Lion Brand Heartland stash and gave it a go. The results are a skirt I’m sure to wear quite frequently this fall!!
