Scarf Squared – Double Crochet C2C Box Stitch Tutorial

Corner to Corner (C2C) Box Stitch has become a hot stitch over the past few years. It can be used to make a square or rectangle of any size with pretty much any yarn. Plus it is made of blocks so it can be used to create graphed images. Once you have this stitch down you can take a graphed image (such as a cross stitch pattern) and crochet it. So cool!!

Vivian Crochet Cowl

With a combination of shell stitches and double crochet the Vivian Crochet Cowl has great texture yet is still easy to make. The Lion Brand Cute As A Button yarn makes is super soft and squishy as well. I have also designed a knit version if that’s more your groove. This cowl can be made super quick with just one skein of yarn. The starting chain runs around the middle of the cowl, and the stitches are then worked up to the top and then down to the bottom. I really enjoyed creating the Vivian Cowl for you!

Granny’s Hood – brighten up your winter with this happy scoodie!

Granny’s Hood is actually a scoodie: a scarf with an attached hood. The scarf is made with granny squares, and the hood is made with sides of 1/4 circle grannies, and granny squares down the center. Bright, happy, rainbow colors of Sugar Bush Bold yarn are used making this piece full of joy. Due to the way the scoodie is constructed, it fits many sizes. The parts of the scoodie are joined using the join-as-you-go method, so there is no seaming. If you want the scarf to be longer or shorter, just add or subtract squares from the scarf section, it’s quite simple. Brighten up the white winter with Granny’s Hood!

Claire’s Cowl – an elegant knit cowl that keeps your neck warm and tucks into your coat

This is another pattern that I designed in my head years ago. I’m not sure why it took so long for me to make it. I wanted a cowl that fit snug all the way up my neck and then flared out at the bottom so it could tuck into my coat. Then I liked the idea of a bit of ruffle/flare at the top as well, just to look pretty. In the pattern notes I explain how to make Claire’s Cowl without the top flare, and how to make the bottom longer if you have a deeper neck on your coat.

Faux Brioche Scarf – no, really, it IS crochet!

I promise, this Faux Brioche Scarf really is crochet! It is thick, squishy, super warm, and reversible. Upon first look, this scarf appears to be made from a knit brioche stitch, but it is actually crochet post stitches. The Lion Brand Heartland yarn makes it both soft and durable. Choose two colors that make you happy and make this scarf your very own. It is easy to make your scarf any size you would like by changing the cast on amount and the number of rows. This scarf makes a wonderful traveling project.
