How To Finish a Crochet Blanket – Suzie’s Striped Sampler Is Done

This post may contain affiliate links. If you purchase something from one of these links I will be compensated. Thank you.

If you’re wondering how to finish a crochet blanket, well this final section of the Suzie’s Striped Sampler will work on so many crochet afghans.

Horizontal rectangle with a square close up image of the corner of a crochet blanket in light rainbow colors with the final border section made in linen stitch on the left of the rectangle and a smaller square image of just the border on the right of the image. Above that is text which reads "Suzie's Striped Sampler Part 10 - November", "2021 Blanket CAL", and "Jessie At Home."
An oval in red to blue rainbow colors with a white cursor arrow on each side and white text which reads "Favorite or Queue This Pattern on Ravelry"

The yarn for this design was provided by WeCrochet. All opinions are my own.

A white vertical rectangle with purple boarder. On the top third is text "Suzie's Striped Sampler Part 10 - November", "2021 Blanket CAL", and "Jessie At Home." The bottom two thirds is a square close up image of the corner of a crochet blanket in light rainbow colors with the final border section made in linen stitch.

When I need a crochet trim or border for a project the linen stitch is my go-to stitch pattern. Sure, I use plenty of others, but I find myself going back to this easy and pretty crochet border or trim time and again. It pairs wonderfully with nearly any stitch pattern, it works with solid or multiple colors, and it has a very crisp and clean look without feeling stiff.

This simple border is fun to make and creates a professional, finished look. I love the linen stitch (aka moss stitch) for crochet trims, borders, and edgings, and I think you will, too!

Don’t forget to tune in next month for more finished photos, and for photos of finished blankets from some of you. If you want your photos included, be sure to make a project page on Ravelry, and don’t forget to link it to my pattern!
