Special Stitches

Pattern

Section 7: Lined Shells

Row 1 (WS): With Color A, ch 1, turn, hdc in first st and in each st across. {145 sts}
Row 2 (RS): Ch 1, turn, sc in first st and in each st across.
Row 3 (WS): With Color D, ch 1, turn, sc in first st and in each st across, pull loop up and remove hook, place loop on a stitch marker to hold it.
Row 4 (RS): With Color E, make a slip knot on hook, turn, sc in first st, skip 3, 7 dc in next st (shell made), [ch 1, skip 7, 7 dc in next st] across until 4 sts remain, skip 3, sc in last st, pull loop up and remove hook, place loop on stitch marker to hold it. {18 shells}
Row 5 (RS): Do not turn, put Color D loop on hook, ch 1 loosley, sc in first sc, sc in each of next 7 dc, [sc over ch-1 and into center st of skipped sts in row below, sc in each of next 7 dc] across until 1 st remains, sc in last sc. {145 sts}
Row 6 (WS): Ch 1, turn, sc in first st and in each st across, pull loop up and remove hook, place loop on stitch marker to hold it.
Row 7 (WS): Do not turn, put Color E loop on hook, ch 1 loosley, sl st in first st, (dch2, 3 dc) in same st (half-shell made), [ch 1, skip 7, 7 dc in next st] until 8 sts remain, ch 1, skip 7, 4 dc in last st (half-shell made), pull loop up and remove hook, place loop on stitch marker to hold it. {17 shells, 2 halfshells}
Row 8 (RS): Turn, put Color D loop on hook, ch 2 loosley, (sl st, ch 1, sc) in first dc, sc in each of next 3 dc, [sc over ch-1 and into center st of skipped sts in row below, sc in each of next 7 dc] across until 5 sts remains, sc over ch-1 and into center st of skipped sts in row below, sc in each of next 4 dc. {145 sts}
Row 9 (WS): Ch 1, turn, sc in first st and in each st across, pull loop up and remove hook, place loop on stitch marker to hold it.
Row 10 (RS): Turn, put Color E loop on hook, ch 1 loosley, (sl st, ch 1, sc) in first st, skip 3, 7 dc in next st, [ch 1, skip 7, 7 dc in next st] across until 4 sts remain, sc in last st, fasten off Color F. {18 shells}
Row 11 (RS): Do not turn, put Color D loop on hook, ch 1 loosley, (sl st, ch 1, sc) in first sc, sc in each of next 7 dc, [sc over ch-1 and into center st of skipped sts in row below, sc in each of next 7 dc] across until 1 st remains, sc in last sc. {145 sts}
Row 12 (WS): Turn, dch2 in first st, [hdc in each of next 2 sts, sc in each of next 3 sts, hdc in each of next 2 sts, dc in next st] across to end.
Row 13 (RS): With Color A, ch 1, turn, sc in first st and in each st across.
Row 14 (WS): Ch 1, turn, hdc in first st and in each st across.

Section 8: Geometry

Row 1 (RS): With Color B, ch 1, turn, hdc in first st and in each st across. {145 sts}
Row 2 (WS): Ch 1, turn, sc in first st and in each st across.
Row 3 (RS): With Color F, ch 1, turn, sc in each of first 2 sts, [ch 1, skip 1, sc in next st] across until 1 st remains, sc in last st, pull loop up and remove hook, place loop on stitch marker to hold it. {74 sc}
Row 4 (WS): With Color G, make a slip knot on hook, turn, sc in first st, [sc in next st, working behind ch-1 sp, dc in skipped st of Row 2] across until 2 sts remain, sc in each of last 2 sts, pull loop up and remove hook, pm in loop to hold it. {145 sts}
Row 5 (WS): Do not turn, put Color F loop on hook, ch 1, (sl st, ch 1, sc) in first st, [bpdc around Color F st 2 rows below, ch 1, skip 1] until 2 sts remain, bpdc around Color F sc 2 rows below, sc in last st, pull loop up and remove hook, pm in loop to hold it. {74 sts}
