Videos to come, and home improvement!

Do you like the new look? I knew what I wanted for a long time, but it was not the easiest thing to achieve. Thankfully, with a LOT of help, I am nearly there.  I like it. I really wanted it to be done by today, because I have a guest post on Stitch and Unwind ~ the blog from All Free Crochet & All Free Knitting. I will be writing a few more guest posts for them over the next … Read more

Attack of the Girl Scout Cookies 2014!

Well, it’s that time of year again! My house has been overrun by Girl Scout cookies! We picked up our 1248 packages (in 104 boxes) of Girl Scout Cookies on Sunday afternoon. We stacked them all in my dining room…and my living room, by kind. We sorted the first girl’s cookies before I remembered to snap some photos. So here is what (almost) 104 boxes of Girl Scout Cookies looks like in my house. Eventually all the packages were sorted … Read more

Secret and not~so~secret crochet!

So I have finally been feeling alive enough to get back to crocheting today! Here is a pile of yarn I have next to me attached to a few secret projects. I know, I’m such a stinker showing you the yarn and not the project, but sometimes you just have to wait! Here is the start of something I hope to have ready to share with you by the end of the weekend. I LOVE making a linen stitch with … Read more

How I learnt to crochet.

It’s National Crochet Month, so I thought this would be a good story to share with you. Just after I finished second grade we moved to Ohio, where most of my father’s family lived. One of those family members was Grandma Clark, my father’s mother’s mother. We would go to Grandma Clark’s apartment for Sunday dinner. I don’t remember if it was every Sunday, every other Sunday, the first Sunday of the month…I just know it was at least once … Read more

National Crochet Month!

Did you know that March is National Crochet Month? It is! I have some fun things lined up for you. I have set a goal of giving you at least 8 free patterns on this blog this month, and 2 Stitchopedia entries. PLUS, I want to give away some of my sale patterns. I have chosen several dates and times throughout the month to give away a pattern. Whoever posts a comment on my blog, replies to or retweets a … Read more

Student Loan Freedom!!

That’s right! I am finally student loan free! You see, it was my goal to be able to pay off one of our student loans with our tax return. Doug’s loan has a smaller balance owed and a lower monthly minimum payment, so the goal was to pay off mine, thus lessening our monthly bills more than if we paid off Doug’s. However, when we saw what our tax return was going to be it looked like we would have … Read more

Box Car Races! and other fun

I hope you are having a wonderful weekend my friends!

When I trudged downstairs yesterday morning, this is what greeted me:

Kyla-making-a-car

Kyla had swiped a Coats box I was planning on sending some stuff to a friend in, and the tubes from some Baker’s Cotton that I had used recently. She was having too much fun for me to be upset. I was planning on giving the tubes to the girls for crafts anyway!

Valentine’s Snow Day!

Hello there! I know I’ve been posting lots of patterns lately. So I thought it was about time for some fun kid and family pictures. Remember how I told you about selling Girl Scout cookies and our adventures at Town Hall? Well Kyla and Vada each walked out of Town Hall with the extra dollar in their pockets. On Wednesday the student Council was selling lollipops for $.50, and the girls brought their dollars so that they could each buy … Read more

What a day!

Wow! What a day it’s been. I was hoping to get an old pattern polished up and posted for you today, but it’s starting to look like that’s just not going to happen. I do have two or three sitting around just waiting for a little bit of editing. I hope to get some up by the end of this month. Of course, I already told you about the other exciting things happening this month. Like the start of the Stitchopedia. … Read more
