Origami Plain Box – Great for storage or gift-giving!

| Craft Tutorial, Crafts, Origami, Origami Pattern

This post may contain affiliate links. If you purchase something from one of these links I will be compensated. Thank you.

The Origami Plain Box is one of my favorite pieces of origami to make. It is so useful! You can use 2 squares of paper, one about 1/2 inch smaller than the other, to make a box with a lid for gifts. You can make them in various sizes for organization. I’ve even made big ones out of craft paper for snacks at a party!

Only one side of the paper will be seen on the completed box, so the color of the back side of the paper does not matter. Be sure to crease well after each fold.

Who doesn’t have memories of these Origami Fortune Tellers from their childhood? We wrote all over them and picked a number and a color and found out what our futures would bring. For some reason I remember they were also sometimes called cootie catchers.

Origami Water Bomb Base

This post may contain affiliate links. If you purchase something from one of these links I will be compensated. Thank you.

Origami has been one of my hobbies since I was 8 years old. Almost all origami pieces start with one of the origami bases: a folded form that starts a piece. This is one such base. You can find a list of all the bases I have tutorials for here: https://jessieathome.com/origami-bases/

Be sure to crease well after each fold. Start the Water Bomb Base by folding the square paper corner to corner.

Skittles Paintings with Kyla and Vada – Fun craft for the days off school!

| Art, Craft Tutorial, Crafts, Family, Video

This post may contain affiliate links. If you purchase something from one of these links I will be compensated. Thank you.

After seeing some Skittles paintings on the internet, Vada wanted to give it a go in a more creative way then just painting with the Skittles colored water. All the tutorials we found had the Skittles in a bowl of water, and then you used the colored water as paint, but we wanted to try actually using the Skittles on the paper.
